I'm new to forums first one.  I was diagnosed with peyronies about 4 years ago.  I'll be 51 next week.  Been to 2 different doctors,  the first one tried varapamil injections and vacuum devise. Work well, then it came back within a year and he didnt seem to want and try anything else.  He also did not like my wife being in the room. I have been married for 27 years.  The second doctor is much more accepting of my wife being involved.  He did a series of injections cant remember what right now but it was to try and soften the scare tissue.  Worked ok but not great. Have to make decision soon if I want to continue.  Plaque is on top side causing upward bend 30 degrees. Just trying to find someplace to get more information before I go back. Doctor said there was a substantial amount of plaque.  Wife would like to help more but due to a brain injury a couple years ago finds it hard to help in the research.  Just going to surf the site see if there is more education to gain.  So hello to all.

The doctor that did not want your wife in the room is not the kind of doctor you want. Are you still using the VED? If not start back.

Are you still able to have intercourse with the 30 degree upward bend?  One trick is to put the girl's butt on a pillow for sex. This changes the angle and allows for better penetration and movement without slipping out.  Always have sex with a rigid penis and a good lubricant.

I don't know your history. I would advise waiting until the middle of December and see if the FDA is going to approve Xiaflex. You may be a candidate.

Good Luck to you and the wife. There is a ton of information on this forum. Any questions just ask we are here to help.

Thank you for your reply.  Yes I am able to still have intercourse.  With alot of trial and error we have discovered what works.  Have finally found a lubricant that my wife is happy with.  Have not been using the VED lately, did not appear to be helping.  Have been thinking about giving it another try.  Been out of the loop for awhile dealing with my wife's injury.  I also suffer from low T, which makes it even more interesting, and have gout.  Somewhere I had read that Peyronies Disease and gout have a correlation, cannot find the info now.  Have discussed this with both doctors, and they say it doesn't.  It's odd that the Peyronies Disease showed up right after I had a bad episode of gout in both big toes.  Looking for a book that is written in laymans terms without alot of medical terms, or overwhelms you with data.  Hopefully something my wife could read.  Since her injury, she gets easily over whelmed with too much data.  That's why she has not been able to help with research.  She cannot do alot of searching on the internet.  So again thank you, will be spending time on site, and hopefully get some much needed information for both me and my wife.

I don't have gout but kidney stones. I take 300mg of Allopurinol every day, it is one of the same treatments for gout.

I found urologist are not the best at treating low testosterone (T). My regular doctor does a much better job. I get a 200mg shot every Friday and that keeps my total T in the high range and my free T in the upper middle range of my lab work. Always get a copy of your lab work.

There are several articles in my blog that may help your wife. My story, I call One Mans Journey, is there in the archives.  It is a 18 page read in Word and taken from the journal I kept on my journey. Go through it and take out the parts that you want your wife to read. It is written in plain language and I have tried to keep out the medical terms.  There is a before and after picture of a 24 year old single young man that had peyronies with hourglassing and Ed. It is not porn and OK to show her what can be done with the right doctor.

I know she may have questions. Please send them to me by PM or email. My wife can answer then in a woman's point of view.

Also get started back on the daily VED exercise. It only takes 15 minutes and it will help your outcome.

Thank you I take 200mg of Allupurinol daily to keep gout in check.  My GP has taken over my testosterone.  Right now I inject 1/2ml weekly and everything is good.  I will read your journal and appreciate your help

Testosterone is an amazing thing. When it's low in your system, the world sucks. When it's nice and high, you feel great.

I was taking a lot more testosterone a few months back and it was making so incredibly horny that I had problems focusing on work.

If my penis was working normally, I would be hunting women day and night. I don't just want to have sex with every pretty girl I see, I want to impregnate them. So, I scaled back on the test. For now.  ;)

Be very careful with testosterone replacement at an early age. Long term use will cause your testicles to shrink and your sperm count to drop to a level where you can not father a child. My urologist at first hesitated a few years and said, "Jack, lets keep the old balls working."

I have been on testosterone for over 20 years. I was blessed with BIG testicles but they have shrunk about 25% in size.  I had a vasectomy in 1972 so fathering a child is not important to me.  I get all the great benefits of testosterone and the size of my testicles is close to normal so that does not bother me. My wife still says I have big balls.  Before you ask, yes I can ejaculate just like before and have the same great feelings.

Thanks Jack but I'm 49 and I cycle the testosterone and I also use HCG which forces the balls to produce natural testosterone. I'm probably going to be on testosterone for the rest of my life. I'm adding HGH in a couple of weeks.

Gentlemen- I have been on T for about 3 years (since about a year and half post op prostatectomy ), and have to agree with Matt. That along with cycling in and out of HGH and GHRH, has made me feel great, and yes horny a lot of the time. Since HGH stimulates the pituitary gland, body builders use it for new muscle growth at the cellular level.I have experienced slight growth in the past of my penis in past cycles. I am finishing up a cycle now, and hoping some of my success is attributed to new cell production in the penis. Regards Inkhorn

I was about 50 when I started full fledged testosterone replacement therapy.  I tried the gels, patches and shots. Of all the shots work best. The gels only make your skin thicker and then the T can't get through. I have oily skin so the patches have difficulty staying on and are obvious you have them on.
My regular doctor gives me my shots and does a better job of controlling my T than the local urologist.  When I was at Vanderbilt I showed Dr. Milam my blood work and treatment by my regular doctor. He said he was doing it the right way.

Great info, guys.

While I realize this is not a penis enlargement discussion forum, recovering lost length (oddly enough that's the one thing that hasn't happened to me) is of importance to all.

Theoretically, after performing VED and/or traction therapy, the body rushes to repair the tearing down of the tissue. Like building muscle, it's always best to give the body chemical support in the form of protein, testosterone, HGH, peptides, etc.

Since IGF-1 increases angiogenesis, cytokine anti-inflammatory production, and cell growth it stands to reason that ideally this is super-food for the penis. Through angiogenesis and cell growth, the body will make the penis create more blood vessels that will work around the scarring in the penis, perhaps remodel the scarring, and build new tissue which should make the penis longer and thicker and more able to hold blood during an erection.

So, the fact that inkhorn has had growth in his penis in the past while on HGH should not be a surprise to anyone. Taking it further, if you're coupling HGH and traction and VED, I would bet my left nut that you're going to see both length and thickness growth in your penis.

In the meantime, please keep your testosterone at the high point of your age range, add HGH if it's within your budget, and consider using HCG to force the testicles to produce extra testosterone. For those of you that can not add testosterone because of a collateral medical issue, consider talking to your endocrinologist about using HCG to create more testosterone.

God bless us all.

Hi Gsd
Thanks Guys for all the info on testosterone and growth hormones, I am right out of my depth on that issue but sounds very promising. We all want to get back to having our "normal old penis" and vigor we had before Peyronies Disease. This site with the help of the "old hands" will give you the best advice along the way you can find and unfortunately I can't add anything to the knowledge these guys have.
My journey with Peyronies Disease has taken me on slightly different route: I have been working on a pragmatic approach to living with Peyronies Disease. I am in the process of developing an aid ( I call it Penile Orthosis (PO))
with the simple aims to keep my penis straight and strong during sex and hopefully reducing the risk of further aggravating  my Peyronies Disease. The PO should help to get back to a "normal" healthy sex life and improve the mental outlook. I have achieved this for my own use. I am now working on trying to adapt the technique to other men with various conditions. If you are interested in participating in my trials read my thread https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3453.0.html and send me  a private message.
Cheers Bro

Let's not forget that Testosterone therapy can be a bit complex and that we are not doctors. So any recommendation needs to be under a doctor's supervision.

Les, absolutely. I would never recommend that someone go poking around their hormonal system without the appropriate medical supervision. That should go without saying and that's why I mentioned speaking to an endocrinologist about raising testosterone. They're better suited than a urologist when it comes to that sort of issue.

Thanks again, Les.

Les- I ditto what Matt said. The T I take,HGH, GHRH, and HCG have all been prescribed by doctors. Regards Inkhorn
