I found this board a few weeks ago while researching recommendations for replacement self-adherent tape to use with RestoreX, and finally decided to join.  :)  This forum had a wealth of information about a sensitive topic (no pun intended).

I'm 57, and was diagnosed with Peyronies Disease in 2024.  I started noticing upward curvature and discomfort in fall 2023, but it took nearly a year to get in to see a specialist.  There is a definite plaque that can be felt when flaccid and an indentation when erect.

We have been using a conservative approach, with 5mg tadalafil daily and verapamil applied topically twice daily since September 2024.  In March 2025 my dr. recommended RestoreX, but it took me several months to save up for it since insurance would not cover it.  I started the RestoreX about 4 weeks ago.

My relationships and psychological aspects are complicated.  :)  I am married but my wife does not like sex.  She has only seen my condition one time, and it did not interfere with having sex that time.  So while the appearance bothered me, I was hesitant to do anything about it, since it doesn't really matter physically.  But I have a friend who I do not have sex with yet who does enjoy looking at what I have.  She has been encouraging me to take care of it for my own sake.

So here I am.

Hey Bud,

Can't help with recommendations to tape but I figured I'd point out that, at least as far as I am aware, there is no topical medication in existence that can penetrate he skin far enough to reach the plaque. If it makes you feel more productive mentally however, then by all means, carry on. I totally understand.

As for the RestoreX, how have you found the process of wrapping the glands each time? If its been a bit tedious, try instead wrapping the clamps themselves with the tape, instead of the head of the penis. Everyone is different of course but I found this method to be way easier and a big time saver.

All the best.

Welcome got_bent_23 to the forum. First things first please take the time and fill out your signature line -->Signature Line . Then please download and study our survivla guide -->Survivla Guide.

Sorry to hear about your situation but here you will find a wealth of knowledge that you need to educate yourself on. You will also find a great group of men who know what you are going through and share their experiences.

Cialis does help with reducing inflammation and promote healing. You should continue using the Restorex and then possibly some VED therapy. Peyronies affects each man a little differently but one thing we all share is the emotional and mental burden it places on us.

Do you like your current DR? You could print out our survival guide and let him read it. Stick with a plan and work at it. With peyronies the motto is," This is a marathon and not a sprint," It takes time and persistence. Welcome :)

Thanks for the responses!  Signature updated (apparently I forgot to hit "save" on that the other day lol).

I think the point of the verapamil is to increase bloodflow to the penis, but they have to compound it and mail it to me, and it is too expensive for me ($70/month out of pocket).  I stopped getting refills on that and saved up for the device instead.

I might try wrapping just the clamp instead of the glans next time to see how that works.  Removing the tape from the glans does not feel good.  I've tried using makeup pads that came with it, but I get slippage unless I still use self adherent tape also.

I had never considered using a VED until reading these forums, but I did discover early on that getting an erection right after a session does make things feel better.  My friend asked me "What if you get an erection while using it?"  I said "I never thought of that, but I imagine something like 'The Incredible Hulk' but with less green."  ;D
