Ten years later, I'm back on this forum, and I don't think I ever introduced myself.

A month ago, I started experiencing the symptoms of a new active phase of Peyronie's disease. And I think the underlying cause is the same again: after a prolonged period of life problems that cause me a lot of stress, my psychiatrist increased the medication I take for my OCD (paroxetine from 10 mg to 20 mg), which helps me to have a clear mind, but affects the hardness of my erections and my libido a tad.

Stress + weak erections = Peyronie's disease again.
Just like it happened about 10 years ago. I imagine it's some kind of microtrauma from masturbating (I don't have a girlfriend at the moment) and that I have a genetic predisposition. What can you do?

Experience and age allow me to approach this problem with more maturity and temperance than last time. I feel sad that I didn't prioritise other aspects of my life, such as finding a good woman to share it with, because now I feel more vulnerable and insecure about starting a relationship.

I have been to a new urologist, who has prescribed me 5 mg of tadalafil daily.
I have caught up on the latest studies thanks to this forum and I think I am going to supplement this medication with a "Multimodal Treatment with Antioxidants", as discussed in the study by Gianni Paulis, Giovanni De Giorgio and Luca Paulis; "Role of Oxidative Stress in Peyronie's Disease: Biochemical Evidence and Experiences of Treatment with Antioxidants".

Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinol), vitamin E, vitamin C, topical Diclofenac and propolis/silymarin are my main candidates.

I am 42 years old.
I am a non-smoker, I do not drink alcohol and I have never taken drugs. I exercise gently on a regular basis, my diet is varied (Mediterranean) and I am "only" about 3 kg overweight. I walk frequently. Here in southern Spain, people use their cars less to go shopping, have coffee with friends or run errands.
I do spend many hours a day sitting in front of the computer though.

My morning erections have almost disappeared. I take probiotics to reduce abdominal bloating. And lately, I feel pain in my fingers and toes when I wake up. It is as if I am suffering from general inflammation in my body, and Peyronie's disease is part of that.

Seriously, I need a good holiday. My last holiday was in February 2019.

I remember some of the admins and users: LWillisjr, Stabler, Hawk, Pfract, Jack1909, Jonbinspain. And I'm happy to see a European colleague as moderator, FlatteningTheCurve.
I want to thank you all for your work.
Also Old Man, may he rest in peace.

Any response, of any kind, is most welcome.

Warm regards.

I would like to say hey it's great to se you back but unfortunately this forum is devoted to helping men with peyronies.

I would say that you do have a jump start as you know what is involved with this disease and have a level head on your shoulders.

Starting Cialis is good and approaching an anti inflammatory diet is excellent! Also look into VED and traction therapy. I might add one thing though. You are getting into your 40's have you had your Testosterone levels checked? Especially your Free T levels. Replacement therapy can be good if neded. I have been on it for 21 years now. Good luck! Welcome back!  :)

Oh, it doesn't matter, I'm glad to be back anyway. The reason for my return is sad, but I am grateful that there are people who are generous enough to manage this forum and devote part of their time to helping others.
Over the years, I have worked on my ability to accept what I cannot change and focus my attention on what is within my control.

I have a check-up in two months since starting treatment with tadalafil.
I have to take photos of my erect penis from various angles to my urologist. I will ask him for a testosterone level test, as you suggest. If he refuses to prescribe it, I will find an endocrinologist who will.
I know someone in his 50s who is undergoing TRT. He actually feels great, recovers faster after weight training and has fewer injuries.
I am going to try to resume the weight training that did me so much good between the ages of 17 and 30.

I've always been afraid of traction therapy, so I have to admit that I'm not properly informed. I don't know much about VEDs either. So I have some work to do!

Thank you very much for your guidance and for taking the trouble and time to welcome me.
Sometimes a few kind words are all it takes to make someone else's day better.

I can tell from your post that you are a kind and generous soul! You are going to pull through this one! And yes I can personally say from experience that Testosterone therapy has given me my life back. In 2004 I started having horrible side effects, no erections, muscle mass loss, no libido and I felt like a 90 year old man. I started with a urologist and then and endocrinologist. Finally after tons of tests and ultrasounds and switching Dr's I found the correct diagnosis and treatment. That was 21 years ago and today I could not live without it.

Traction therapy for me did resolve a lot of my lost length and girth but it did take a lot of invested time. VED therapy as an adjunct did also prove to be helpful too. Just read up again on the forum and best of luck!  :)

Caesar !

Nice to know you remember and not so nice that you are back. Mikel said it all. I would say that it would be appropriate for you to see how cialis or Viagra work for you and your erections?

Unfortunately some of those supplements are no longer recommended because they have not been proven to be effective. But doesn't hurt to take if you feel they might benefit you somehow.
