Can you have scar tissue without peyronie's
« on: February 14, 2021, 06:31:21 PM »

Hi there, I was wondering if it's possible to have only scar tissue as opposed to the actual 'peyronie's disease' - my scar tissue began to develop at only 17 which is very young in my opinion. I'm 18 now, have almost no curvature (a mild amount maybe 5 degrees has recently reared its head as some scar tissue from an injury to the top formed but manual traction has made it better), and I can feel and see a fair amount of scar tissue and red lines at the bottom of my penis - again there is zero curvature at the bottom. Everything on google says that scar tissue in the penis is plaque and therefore peyronies, but is it possible to just have scar tissue from repeatedly injuring the penis due to rough masturbation?

Hi there.  Yes I think so.  At least that was what my diagnosis was from Dr. Levine in April of 2020.  I had some scarring and wound healing that was a result of an injury but he did not find any plaques in palpitation or ultrasound that suggested I had Peyronies.  That was last Spring.  I've recently had another injury present it self and now I'm wondering if his first diagnosis was incorrect and that this new injury is tied to the older injury and that I do in fact have Peyronies.  But from what I was told initially and beyond my case in particular, yes you can have scarring without Peyronies.

Totally possible to have a nice looking and healthy functional penis with scar tissue, loads of people have a little scarring, but not severe enough to cause curvature

Yeah, in my case, I have a scar that's still soft and causing an indentation. My Uro referred to it as "fibrosis, not a plaque" for whatever that's worth. I've had soft nodules that have appeared and then disappeared after many months, so I'm hoping this will as well. But the difference between "fibrosis" and a classic Peyronie's "plaque" is probably a factor of how hard the scar becomes.
