Title: Foreskin restoration as cause
Post by: emasculated on September 17, 2014, 04:47:24 PM
I've been thinking long and hard what could have caused the condition at my age of 27.
Finally, I have come to the conclusion that I caused it myself.
In 2010 I "dabbled" in Foreskin restoration. For the simple reason that because of my circumcision at age < 1 I was
lacking some sensitivity (or so I thought after reading too much internet..).
Usually, I would not try something like this just because it's described on the internet.
But there were several reasonable sounding descriptions by doctors (who partly did this stuff themselves) as well as a foundation (NORM uk).
So stupidly I ordered a device. I used it a bit and the manual technique back in 2010.
I only used manual, since I could never really figure out how to make this device stay in place...
I got some sensitivity back, but soon quit.
Now I remember developing some very mild ED after this experience.
Fast forward 3 years the first symptoms of Peyronies started.

I'm now 100% sure that my Peyronies case was caused by an injury through my Foreskin restoration attempt.
I must have caused damage to the Tunica Albuginea which resulted in scar tissue.
Since I have read that Peyronies can be _dormant_ for quite some time it's very reasonable to suppose that
it just took 3 years to develop to a symptomatic stage in my case.

Hence my urgent recommendation: Stay away from foreskin restoration or any technique / method which involves manipulation
on the penis. It's just not worth the risk at all. People recommending this stuff have no idea how the physiology of the penis
is affected by manipulations / stretching etc. And that's not well understood at all anyway.
E.g. for foreskin restoration they claim it's just like stretching your earlobes.
But not only the skin tube is stretched, but invariably also part of the tunica albuginea and additionally it's stretched in a way which
in my opinion makes it very susceptible to damage / tearing / internal bleeding leading to scar tissue formation.

Hard to forgive oneself such stupidity. But I at least hope others learn from it.. for me it's too late.

emasculated,

Thanks for posting this. We don't have any scientific data but it is an interesting theory. It seems a shame that so many fall for the postings or attempts of others on the internet to make one's penis longer, stronger, more sensitive, etc.

I have been restoring my foreskin for 10+ years and have only recently (in the last 3 months) had the symptoms of Peyronies.  I don't think that the restoring process has caused it, however, I have been very careful not to over-stretch and have used a variety of devices to alternate the stretching areas.  My Peyronies manifested after my doctor put me on Amlodipine for high BP, but I did notice some plaque developing a month or so prior to this, but wasn't sure what it was.  I only took the Amlodipine for around 4 weeks prior to noticing a painful, bent nocturnal erection and stopped immediately after that and other side effects.  I am now back on Perindopril (ACE inhibitor) which I was taking prior to the Amlodipine.  With so many changes of medication and other factors it is hard to establish cause and effect.

I am not sufficiently convinced that foreskin restoration can cause Peyronie's unless it was done improperly and there was some sort of serious injury involved, but that's just me and my experience on restoration forums.

I tried to stretch for a couple of months. While I've never been violent with my penis it has cause only problems and I have been diagnosed with a plaque. Please stay away from stretching.

Foreskin restoration if done properly is essentially traction pulling on the skin rather than body of penis.  Traction is actually a treatment for peyronies.  Very doubtful this caused peyronies especially after 3 years.  Though, be sure to follow safe accepted practices for foreskin reconstruction such as  described by NORM, not fly by night internet sales companies.

I don't understand either. But same symptoms. Mild ed and a plaque. Always thought if the penis was strong enough to sustain an erection it wouldn't cause problems, but now I understand erections are the result of vasodilation and that's completely different from pulling on these tissues.
