Title: Psychosexual counciling/Therapy
Post by: Jimmi85 on August 26, 2021, 04:50:53 AM
I'm intrigued to know if anyone here has either looked into the above or had some counselling sessions?

Clearly, most of us here have some kind of physical issue which may or may not stop us from having penatrive sex, but certainly for me, I think my physical issues are compounded by the way i often feel mentally, which results in a severe lack of confidence and at times i would even go as far as saying bouts of depression.

Sex is not how it used to be for me, everything about it is very different, and i guess there is also an element of guilt on whether or not I am satisfying my partner ( although she says i do ).

Obviously I will continue with things such as traction and will continue assessing on whether or not I want to go down the surgery route but if anyone has had or tried Psychosexual counselling/therapy I'd be really interested to hear about your experiences. I've not told my other half yet that i'm looking into it and i don't know if I will/should or whether or not it would be prudent if we did it together.

thanks

Have not done it, but totally understand where you're coming from and think it would be a good idea.

I think that it would benefit you a lot. Also having a supportive partner is good too! It just depends on how your relationship is and whether they will understand and be a help.  Don't ever feel ashamed or bad on seeking out help for anything you need improvement on.  Emotionally or physically we see Dr's and counselors to treat us and help us heal. The fact that you are wanting to see someone is a good indication that you will
make it through this part of your life. Life is a journey for everyone. Be encouraged!

Personally, what is affecting psychologically is the way my penis looks, weaker erections and the fact that I got from Trimix injections. If I don't think about my penis is when I'm ok.
