Title: Just figured out I had this - Self diagnosis
Post by: koalabear on March 17, 2012, 06:34:45 PM
I'm 43. Louisiana, USA. Just figured out I have this. Any doctor recommendations in the area would be helpful. I haven't searched this site yet. Does anyone know how long I would have had this before it started showing itself. I have 3 plaques that I can feel. They seem somewhat large to me. A month ago I didn't notice anything unusual. Trying to stay positive.

Hi Koalaber
I suppose you was happy not to have this problem, but if you have already, Welcome to the forum.
First to your question: Peyronie's is a very individual disease and it is developing very different in each case. Have people that they feel and see plaque a week after an injury, others like me after a few months.
To the issue itself:
You have to find and see a good doctor. He may check you with ultrasound and tell you better than us because we are not doctors (most of us).
You may check the forum to find a doctor in Louisiana or close to. I suppose someone from your area will jump in if he knows a good doctor.
Before you see the doctor read the posts of the people regarding treatments. It seems that Pentox is helping a lot, especially in the early stages. So don't lose time. Some on the forum are using Pentox, L-Arginine and VED, myself also.
If you will read the recent posts in "Introduce Yourself" you will read a very positive report of one of our new members regarding Pentox in the early stage of the disease.
