Title: New Member intro post
Post by: yorky1000 on January 14, 2020, 07:02:12 AM
I've had pain from what is either Peyronies or prostatitis since August 2019. I have seen 2 consultants but neither seems to be of much help regarding pain relief. The pain is located towards the body end of the shaft. It tends to wear off after a week or so and returns with any stimulation. I can manage without sex at the moment (I'm 71) but the constant nagging pain impinges on daily life. Any thoughts on non prescription pain relief or something similar (based in UK).

R-Alpha lipoic acid, l-acetyl carnitine, any anti-inflammatory type of thing containing turmeric or something like ginger should help a bit with pain. Traction helped the most for pain for me.

Ever looked at a penis anatomical diagram as you can find them on google picture search? That might help you pinpoint where it is.

Quotebody end of the shaft.
Inside the body or do you mean topside of the outside penis at the base?
That would be rather far away from the prostata. Though what kind of connects both is the various tissues and muscles of the pelvic floor.
Is the pain from the stimulation from the actual points of touching or is it happening "downstream" as a reaction?

Either side of penis just before it joins the body. The consultant indicated that there was thickening here. The problem is, I don't know enough about the symptoms etc to ask sensible questions. The last time I had sex the erection caused pain and the whole sex act was not the most comfortable experience I've ever had !!!! The pain usually diminishes after about a week but it doesn't seem to be doing so this time.

Do I need to transfer this email thread to a more appropriate thread?

Kevin

The introductory threads go for 10 posts. A mod will close it and you might start another thread in another part of the forum(https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php).
I wouldn't worry about it for now.

I'm not sure about pain relief. Maybe a topical creme, maybe over the counter from the pharmacy, would help or a systemic pain medication.. Also knowing what tissue is exactly in pain might help to get the right treatment...

That's interesting! On both sides left and right and not in the direct middle?
Is it hurting to the touch near the surface or does it seem to be deeper inside the penis tissue?

The penis basically splits into two legs behind the pubic bone. These legs are interwoven by muscles. Could be the muscles are the problem, tense or inflamed. They also indirectly connect to the prostate.

You might click this link to a diagram to make some sense of where the pain might emanate from:

As you can see there are also nerves(yellow) on each side that might be the issue.

Hello Melting. it looks like the dorsal nerve as it leaves the body where the most grief arises. I'm trying Voltarol at the moment which may be helping. The thoughts of possibly getting an erection in the near future are eye watering. Thanks for your input.

Once you get the inflammation down you might try to loosen the area a bit.
Could be that it's too tense muscular or a ligament is rubbing the nerve/trapping it. "male Pelvic floor relaxation". If you search google on that it might help you find some ideas. It sure can't hurt but it could also be something else..

Thank you. I'll try that particularly as the pain has flared up again despite no sexual activity
