Title: Anyone get a second round of Xiaflex? (8 more shots) Was it worth it?
Post by: shrugs on December 01, 2022, 03:52:38 AM
It's been almost three years since I finished my standard course of 8 Xiaflex injections. I had moderate improvement, went from around a 35 degree bend with hinging to a 10-15 degree bend with no hinging. I was happy enough with the results.

But over the years, the curve has crept back in to about 30 degrees and I can feel a plaque getting larger again.

I had a checkin with my Uro this week and he's recommended another course of 8 shots if I'm up for it (and insurance approves).

Anyone done two rounds of Xiaflex, and did it provide any lasting improvement beyond the first course?

I'm not sure I want to go through the risk and trouble again. There was improvement the first time, but I'm beginning to think Xiaflex is often a temporary improvement and that plaques come back over time.
