Title: What is xiaflex made off?
Post by: Mr man on October 31, 2022, 01:52:27 PM
Hello gentlemen,

I was curious to know what is inside xiaflex compound? I understand it's some sort of enzyme? I think I read somewhere it's based from silk worm larvae extract? But I could be getting my wires crossed?

How does it break down plaque?

Thanks guys

Answering to myself. Lol. Actually it took me 1-2 minutes to come across the scientific name Collagenase clostridium histolyticum. Just in case anyone is interested?

It's a cultured enzyme. Derived from a fungus. If I remember rightly?

The enzyme is formed by the bacteria C. histolyticum hence its name
