Title: Just diagnosed - terrified
Post by: usapd on January 18, 2015, 01:10:24 PM
Hi,

I am a middle aged male year old male.   I spoke with my GP yesterday.  He referred me to a urologist.  He assured me by sex life wasn't over. I am simply terrified after reading these boards.

Any input or advice would be much appreciated.

usapd,
Suggest read the following introductory post if you haven't already. Will provide some initial information regarding Peyronies.

Thanks LWillisJR...  I've read it three times, the standard protocol seems to be Pentox, Clias and VED with varying degrees of success.  Really looking for a little encouragement or results from guys who have similar profiles.

Hi,

I am a newbie and learning fast.  I have just been diagnosed.  The standard treatment protocol seems to be Pentox, Clias and VED.  Is there 'standard treatment' period or his this a life long regiment, if it works at all?

Thanks

usapd,

I understand the "it's not fair" part: I got this at age 29 and thought I was robbed of 30-40 years of good sex, based on the typical average age men get Peyronie's. I then went through a separation and divorce and was really worried about dating again.

However, I met a very understanding woman a few months ago and the Peyronie's isn't even an issue. I am having better sex than I ever had when I was "normal."

I was lucky not to suffer severe deformity and I credit taking pentox for 8 months for that. I suggest getting on pentox, cialis and doing VED to encourage healing. I did not do the latter two treatments, but many men on the forum have had good experiences with them and studies appear to back those up.

Good luck, life is not over, hang in there.

I merged your topic you opened on the traction board as it have nothing to do with traction.
Also you are asking/stating same thing in two posts, it will not give you more answers.
VED (or traction), Pentox and low dose Cialis is not a "standard" protocol, but embraced by many on the forum and prescribed by leading Peyronies experts.

Many of us have had broken bats and are now back in the game. There are several success stories listed here:

The thing with Peyronies Disease is that there is no standard treatment. What appears to work for one man, might not work for the next. It's a common phrase here, but Peyronies Disease is a very individual and personal condition. If you can't cure it, then you can at least inhibit its progression and limit the damage, and to do that you need to ensure your penile health is optimal. The VED and low dose Cialis are all about promoting healthy blood flow, which is a big step towards that optimal level. And this probably goes without saying, but be gentle with the old fella from now on. Good luck and welcome to the boards.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate your support and input.  With the help of God, doctors and guys like you all, I know I will come to terms with this and take the needed steps to overcome this terrible disease.    What amazes me is that as a 'well educated' man in his 50's I NEVER heard of Peyronies Disease or precautionary steps to take.

My self was not so lucky, I fall on this website too late. It was more a denial and wait that the curve, bend, ED etc' will go alone.
I will say that vast majority of man are ignorant on the subject until they got this disease.

As an introductory topic, the topic is locked.
Open topics/post on specific subjects on the adequate boards

Same for many of us here. I never heard of it until I had it.
