I want to take the anti depressant trazodone for anxiety and nocturnal erections. I read in numerous articles that trazodone helps with erections, so I went to the drug information and it said that is contraindicated for men with Peroynes, bent or curved penis, why?. Every single thing that is out there for erections is almost always contraindicated for peroynes, what the hell do I suppose to do? Anyone knows why is contraindicated for Peroynes?
id say talk to your doctor. on the cialis label it also says contra indicated for penile bending but its pure nonsense. ithink its completely fine to take it
I tried trazodone many years ago and it was horrible, zero efficacy and side effects were unbearable. Most people seem to tolerate it well, though.
I have no idea if it may worsen penile curvature or not.

I've had terrible luck with all centrally acting drugs for ED: trazodone, cabergoline, apomorphine and even a supplement called melatonin. Everyone is different though, and I know many people respond to these meds.
Bud, I do believe the dosage for erections vs anxiet are different (Higher for anxiety but at that dose may still help w erections.). You'd have to try it and see, at that higher dose you may initially feel drowsy the next day but that should go away.
But the official site of Trazodone says that is contraindicated for Peroynes, but the don't say why
I'm not sure, probably a liability warning since it hasn't been tested in men w Peyronies Disease. Have you tried low dose nightly generic cialis or viagra?
Thank you for the response Tony, I'm currently taking Cialis daily, and it helps, but my erections are not as good as pre-Peroynes. Also, I'm taking 25mg Zolodt daily, I was thinking to replace it for Trazodone, because both produce more Seratonine
How much daily cialis go you take? If its 5mg you might up if to 10mg. Or, just add viagra one hour before sex. I don't think trazadone is particularly helpful to replace Zoloft-i'd consult w your doc. They might just add the trazadone to your Zoloft.

I only scanned these responses but I took Trazadone for years for NTE's. I did not find it real useful for intercourse. It might have helped some but the two erections are now widely considered to operate on different pathways. I still use it on occasion for sleep as does my wife I think it is generally very good bang for the cost for both NTE's and sleep. It should be taken with a snack so it is better absorbed.
Prior to (now 50 mg Trazodone each evening) I used to take 50 mg of Sildenavil .
The NTE are slightly weaker than with sildenafil (just a feeling i guess).
But nevertheless they are there and i'm not aware of any side Effects.
Since i take 5 mg Cialis (per Day) I was able to reduce the use of sildenafil significantly.
I only use up to 50 mg occassioanly prior to sex.
So again Trazoden seemed to do the same Job as Sildenafil (concerning NTE's)

so if you gonna use it , you should take the least dose and without combining it with sildenafil or any other similar drugs
you can try mirtazepine
it is one of the atypical antidepressants that alleviate anxiety performance without affecting sexual function .
the problem is it has a strong sedation effect that will make you fall asleep instantly
but this effect will be tolerated after one week of use

There is some incorrect information here.
1. The minuscule dose taken for NTE has zero impact on anxiety or depression because it is many times below the minimum clinical amount.
2. All that is needed is 1/2 of a 50 mg tablet taken with a snack. It will do as good as 50mg for both NTE's and sleep.
3. There is no reason not to take it if you have a deformity since the erection is no different than a natural erection or a PDE5 induced erection from Viagra etc.
the only concern is potential priapism. It cannot cause priapism in a waking individual, especially one who has ED. There is some minimal danger that it can cause priapism in a sleeping state just like PDE5 inhibitors can.
