Title: Scared i've made it worse
Post by: Dannijac on December 12, 2016, 01:49:35 PM
Hi,
This is my first post and I want to tell my story and any advise or encouragement would be appriciated.
I got sick when i was around 20 and fell into a depression aswell of sorts. So the only time my mind wasn't 100 percent focused on my illness was when i masturbated and watched porn. So after a while i could watch porn for hours and masturbate. And sometime during this time i must have gotten my injury. But i was still sick and focused on that, so i didn't pay much mind to my penis and continued exactly the same with hours long masturbation. Even when i had very painful erections. And it took a long time to realise the pain in the penis and all that was actually a big problem, but i was kind of addicted, it had become like a routine. Anyway lets jump to right now where im scared and sad and angry about all this and what i might have done to myself. It hurst still but not as intense as before when i get erections, aspecially after i have mastubated and try again the next day o the day after. My erections are weak. I can barley get a full erection and it goes away as fast if i get it up. I haven't gotten night time erections for a long time now that i've thought about it.

My questions are. Could my masturbation have made the condition worse? Or could i have gotten other injuries? Can i be helped? Will i be able to get and sustain a erection on my own? I also have this wierd feeling like an "ache" and that im sore. Like a "burning" feeling around my crotch area, but don't know if that's an issue? What does it mean if i don't get night time erections?
I have a lot of worries about this topic and others and would be greatful for some replies.

Thanks Dannijac

I would echo lonelywolf's thought.

But I would add: If you are young, then I suspect there is hope for you...

- Based on your own description of your compulsive behavior dannijac - -  consider seeking professional help. Addiction to masturbation is a thing.
-You only get one dick, and it is possible to get physical healing as well as psychological. But not likely by yourself or on your own.

If you truly want to have a reasonable future with your body - - get help from a professional counselor.

How long have you went without masturbating? (Edging doesn't count).
I have to leave it alone for a full week before I start getting erections at night.
I used to have serious issues from over masturbation when I was in my early twenties which lead to Peyronie's without a doubt. Do not watch porn or masturbate for a while. If you need help visit the nofap or yourbrainonporn / yourbrainrebalanced communities.

You may have pelvic floor issues as well, which many of us here have as well. Do you clench your pelvic muscles when masturbating?

Thanks for your answers.
My doctor told me when we talked on the phone before my appointment that it won't get worse or better how much you have sex or masturbate, but i feel that to be untrue. Now that i think about my condition all the time i've tried to stop and my fear for what o have done and can do have made me able to not do it as much but instead i have this wierd need to always see if i can get and sustain my erection even if the answer is always the same. But i have gone a few days without and I'm seeing another doctor during the week and in my misery, somehow i still have some hope. I haven't thought about if i clench those muscles but i probably do.
Could my ed be from peyronies or masturbation or both?

ED is likely from masturbation or injury. Peyronie's is the final symptom of an unhealthy penis, granted that there are genetic factors.
First is inflammation, next is hypoxia from chronic inflammation, then fibrosis, then actual noticeable scarring, which is called Peyronie's. There are many different things that happen inside the penis and it's quite complex.

Penile health is like heart health, it's complex and relies on a multitude of factors. Sadly urologists and doctors are only interested in diagnosing what can be treated by drugs or some kind of profitable therapy.

When I say take a break from masturbation, I mean take AT LEAST ONE WEEK off.
No erection checking, no edging.

One study showed that inflammation can be trapped in the penis for months, causing small hematomas and eventually hypoxia and fibrosis. You could try a natural anti-inflammatory to try to get the inflammation out of your penis while you rest. I recommend nattokinase or bromelain, but there are others as well. The burning could be from your prostate from over masturbation.

You could definitely see a peyronie's specialist and get on low dose cialis and pentox if you like (if you aren't already), and supplements could help as well. I think rest would be the most important for you however.

I finally have erections at night after taking a lot of breaks, mainly from porn. There is hope, try to stay positive!

Hi Dannijac,

Just throwing in my two cents as a young man with long term (and now severe) ED. My view is that regular, natural erections are the key to maintaining penile health.  Although there's still some debate, there's is some research that suggests a long term flaccid state causes fibrosis similar to that caused by priapism. Hence the point of nocturnal erections. If I could turn back time, as soon as I first noticed symptoms of ED I would have done the following:

1. Taken low dose daily cialis and Pentox.
2. Started using VED regularly as per the protocol on this site.
3. Taken supplements such as L-arginine to increase blood flow
4. Not taken for granted anything that a medical professional told me, 'expert' or otherwise.

I think NeoV is right, giving up the porn and a break from masturbation would be a good thing. I wouldn't give up masturbation completely however - sexual stimulation can help keep your testosterone levels normal, which  I believe is important for penile health, among many other things.

Best

Peety

dannijac -- Remember this is just an open forum for a bunch of guys. We are not the professionals in a field of study. We can only relate to you opinion and experience, laced with lots of our own personal bias and beliefs.

Masturbation is one topic that generates a lot of "keep doing it after you take a break" kind of sentiments -- for better or worse.

I read your post three times looking for some nuance. If you meant half of what you described, and if what you described is close to your reality, I have to repeat: Get help. You can have decades of healthy male living -- physical and emotional -- if you make some right choices.

For your sake, go see a counselor.

Cheering you on,

John

Try researching reverse kegels and pelvic floor balance. Porn messes with head and the masturbation can create pelvic floor imbalances.
It is very common. (I did write some exercise here that helped me: Pelvic floor exercises - Peyronies Society Forums (https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3175.msg56313.html#msg56313) )

Rigoruous masturbating is the worst you can do when you have peyronies or similar issues - aggrevates. You sensed that right.
Still it is good to have circulation and errections.

With some issues out there you have to develope into your own expert so to say. Reading up and asking helps.

There are lots of ways to improve your life out there. With some courage you can do it! Asking for help is always good and many times first step!
Stay healthy!

Thanks for the answers.
I am depressed all the time, its the only thing i think about, my injury and my difficulties. That its my own fault dosen't make things better.
I have gone a week without and it felt a little better but not much. Every time i masturbate i have an irritatating feeling, something like a aching feeling you get your muscles are exhausted but plus pain. And i have the feeling constantly. And am at a point where i am slowly giving up on everything in my life.

I have seen two uro's and one said i had scar tissue but that nothing could be done. The other said i didn't have scar tissue and that i am young and shouldn't have erection problems and because of that i don't have a problem... i believe i also have venous leakage. The blood goes in and then just leak out fast. I don't know what to do. I plan on calling another doctor but my hope is at its end.
