Congratulations on the schedule of the surgery. Stepone---Thank you very much for the encouraging words. I am back to using the pump to give myself the best possible result with the surgery. I was not that well endowed to begin with and am somewhat conerned about losing some length from the surgery. But with the vascular leakage issue I can not use what I have so for me this surgery is a no brainer. I think I am making some progress with getting medicare pre-authorization for the surgery. It is somewhat complicated as I am still working full time and my health insurance through my employer is considered primary while the medicare is secondary. But since my health insurance through employment has denied coverage based on a policy exclusion the medicare should kick in. I just want that resolved in advance. As to the drive from Duke back home it is about six hours. My procedure is scheduled as an out patient procedure and is scheduled for very early in the morning. So I will probably be discharged by noon at the latest. I have gotten some advice that the best thing is to lay flat for the first two days following the surgery to keep swelling down. Also I am concerned about having the drainage tube and possibly the catheter to remove post surgery and may want to stay close to Dr. Lentz's office to handle those issues as opposed to having to rely on health care providers back home for those issues. I do want to get home as quickly as possible but am weighing what will be the best course of action considering all the circumstances. We are thinking about staying over in Raleigh for two nights following the surgery. Do you have any recommendations as to whether I should stay over for a couple of nights or try to go straight home. I think Hawk thought it would have much more painful to wait to travel home, if I am remembering correctly. Thank you so much for all the encouragement as I move forward with this huge life changing event so late in life. Lee |

I have a left curving 35-36 degrees. Anyone who's gone through surgery - was it worth straightening for this level of curvature? I can have sex as it is but certain positions are uncomfortable (woman on top, missionary is tricky, etc). The only position I can kind of get right is from the side and from behind. Other than that it's cumbersome. Thanks! Both the doc I have seen in Sweden and the current one in the UK say curvatures of around 50-60 degrees and above could be considered for surgery. That was public health care. Then again, it also depends on your age, what other treatments you have tried (VED, traction etc.) and how much you are willing to pay for private health care. |

I had the myocarditis reaction to the moderna vaccine back in august. Sometimes i wonder if all that systemic inflammation could have caused my issues. Now im sick with covid and am noticing the hourglass seems slightly worse. Im wondering if maybe covid could worsen things for me or if anyone else has had that experience.
Thank you |

Keep in mind that this is not a drug of any kind. It is simply a nutrient. Bodybuilders take it in large doses for years to promote blood flow to the muscles. There is some evidence that helps with diabetic healing moderate high blood pressure, even better nutrition in the elderly, and dementia.
It's okay to cycle on and off but probably not necessary. |

I also have a lateral curve. Even in mild cases they are worse than dorsal curves. I would much rather have a dorsal curve with the same degree of my current lateral one. Many even say slight dorsal curves will feel better for your partner too whereas lateral ones can cause discomfort for both persons involved.

I use a supplement called High Volume by PESCIENCE.
I take one scoop per day which gives you a dose of 2500mg L-Citruline and 1000mg Arginine. I feel like this is helping to promote good blood flow you could take 2 scoops but I only take one so it lasts 36 days as it's a bit more on the expensive side. I've never read that long term usage of these ingredients is not deemed safe. I'd encourage you to keep taking them daily to promote blood flow. |

Firstly, I am really grateful you have replied to me LWillisJr.
The doctor told me with a physical exploration I had Peyronies but without plaque. He commented me to go back again if my problem got worse. In that case I should show him photos. I have worked out by myself in my case that the bend I have is about 20 or 25 degrees. At first I had some pain. Now, I don’t any longer have it. I think this happened to me about six months ago when I crossed my legs and I hurt myself. I would like to use my traction device but I don’t really know how to use it very well. The device has got screws or nuts but I would like to use it with low power at first. When the nuts or screws get closer to the body the power is increased? In the manual it doesn’t say anything to increase or decrease the power by means of the screws or nuts. ![]() (I really appreciate your answer. Many times we feel lonely when we have an illness problem. One day for me, another one for whoever my need help) Best wishes, Joe (two citizenships, Spanish and USA, living in Spain) |

Personally I think that any curvature of 30 degrees or less for a lateral or upward curvature is normal
On the other hand, a downward curvature of 25-30 degrees is already very disabling for sex |
