Hi all,
Not having a great time over here, guess that's a shared experience though!
I'm 29, male, based in London. Maybe three hours ago I noticed a kink in my penis on the left side, maybe a couple of centimetres / an inch from the base. I don't know what caused it - haven't had anything massive trauma etc..
Noticed some pain last night but didn't think it was anything serious, when I saw it just now though it really freaked me out. It's a very noticeable kink - not creating a huge bend, maybe 10-15 degrees max, but definitely something. I googled it straight away and pretty soon found my way here.
I've been taking finasteride for hair loss, read they might be connected so I'm gonna stop that immediately just in case. Also just ordered some CQ10 and arginine in kind of a panic. I have a feeling I might be overreacting - also sometimes it's good to be proactive though.
I've booked a doctors appointment due Saturday, I just wanted to ask if anyone here knows of anything else this could be? From what I've read it really seems like Peyronies, mostly because I can't find any info about anything less serious that could cause the same effects.
Reading this forum has already calmed me down a bit so thanks very much for that, I am pretty scared though. Life has been difficult enough recently without having to worry about something as crazy as this.
Anyway good to meet you all, thanks in advance for any advice.
Welcome! If you could please fill out your signature line, as well as read the survivor's guide, we will be happy to help however we can.
Heya, thanks have filled in my signature, already started on the survival guide but will finish it off now!
Definitely sounds like you are in the acute phase of Peyronie's but definitely get a diagnosis from a doctor. Take Advil for pain, and keep an eye on any changes you may notice to tell your doctor.
Do everything in your power to be in a anti inflammatory state. Stop sugar intake, take nsaids, do not go mastubating or have sex to aggravate it. Read the survival guide. You have to nip this in the bud. You will learn more from this forum then the first couple visits to the uro. They won't know much. You have to do everything in your power to make the acute phase heal without too much fibrosis
Hey thanks ok will definitely look into that straight away.
Welcome chilks! Being proactive is always good. Finasteride is a very well known drug for destroying libido, erections and contributing greatly for a lot of peyronies cases. It's good you jumped out of it.

I would stop the finasteride. Keep reading and studying the survival guide as this will give you some excellent info.
