Title: Another urology visit coming
Post by: caveman on January 10, 2019, 06:27:28 PM
Some history:  Had high blood pressure earlier last year, doc prescribed Ziac, and then inflammation started in, as well as Erectile Dysfunction.  It took a few months.  Then, all of a sudden a curve.  Couldn't even get an erection.  For inflammation storm and joint pain, doc then prescribed Meloxicam.  I took that and had a number of issues with it.  Curve kept getting worse.  Decided to go to a urologist and she said:  1) "Don't take vitamin E, you'll OD on it."   She said she felt plaque...but I couldn't feel anything.  2) She said traction won't work unless traction is done 4-6 hours per day.  3) She then said the only thing left really is doing surgery...Nesbit.  I told her I'd think on it.  4) She said Xiaflex takes forever and not good results from it...and painful.  She says most elect to get the surgery...one and done.

In two weeks, I have another appointment with her.  Not sure what to do.  She's going to want to cut and I am against that.   I've been doing manual stretches for about a month.  I'm not seeing it help that much...but I can get an erection...but it doesn't last long.  My doc gave me some Viagra and that did help except for the sinus congestion I got with taking it.

How long does it take for manual stretching to even make a difference in the curve?  I'm about 60 degrees up.  Intercourse is pretty much out of the question.  I have been stretching about 4-5 times per day...30 seconds at a time, in sets with different directions and even against the curve.  I tried the castor oil, L-Citrulline, etc for a few months, too.  No difference really.  I even tried the 3MHz ultrasonic device for 2 months.  No change.  Only thing I haven't tried is some kind of stretching device.  Maybe I'm not stretching long enough?  Don't know.  It's super frustrating as everyone here knows.   Doing serrapeptase and natto now for a few weeks.

Have you tried using heat, like handwarmers?

I would find an experienced xiaflex doctor to get a second opinion. Yea it takes many months. Yes is can be painful. Long as your dick is not too curved , it can be effective. Not a perfect solution. Get a second opinion and go from there. Surgery may be the best option for your situation.

Wow!  Timely comment. Believe it or not I tried heat, handwarmers, right after I wrote my post.  I swear it helped that curve. I tried heat for the second time yesterday.  I will keep up the heat pack and see how manual stretching and heat packs work...along with the serrapeptase and natto.  I'll report more after a week or so.  While heat helped that curve, I did notice that it also decreases sensitivity to the penis, too.

Heat can dry your penis out. Not good for the nerves. You need to put some kind of moisturizer on it after using heat. Maybe coconut oil?

I use coconut oil and castor oil, both seem to be good at preventing dryness of the penis. I don't see how heat would be bad for the nerves. I remember reading a post where someone actually regained sensitivity in his penis after using heat. In any case, I think the benefits of heat outweigh any negatives. Also be careful with manual stretching, especially when used alongside heat.

I didnt say heat was bad for the nerves. Drying out is bad for the nerves. Just advised him to give that a try and see if it helps

You are def going to the wrong Euro !!!!!
I've been through the whole process.........
Xiaflex-Traction-VED-Manual Stretching....... It took almost a year but I went from a 75 degree bend to 15 which my Euro ( one of the best in the US ) thought was a big success......
DO NOT go for surgery unless it's a last resort........
You need to find a Euro who specializes in Peyronies........Xiaflex injections for me were not that painful and worked great......
My opinion is to cancel your appt w her and find a specialist........
Check the Doc list on this board and find one close to where you live........
Sorry but what she said about Xiaflex and being so eager to cut would have me running as fast as I can away from her.......
Just an opinion from a guy who has and is going through the same with much success.........
Good Luck......

I'm with you on this.  Thinking the exact same thing this weekend.  I will take a look around at other docs.  She's obviously a joyful cutter.

I canceled the urology doc appointment.  I'll research more options and look for another doc.  This lady wasn't very good from my experience visiting her anyway.  She just immediately wanted to cut.

Good caveman! If I do not bend my penis straight up. Just leave it forward. I can have normal masturbation. Just seems my powerful( my orgasms after peyrones are much stronger than before for some reason) orgasms pull on my pelvic area if I bend it backwards. Bows a bit more. I can have close to normal sex in the missionary and doggy position. My erections have returned to normal where they we thin and shorter during the acute stage.  After about 4 to six injections you can have sex, so its not like you have to do without. Just 2 weeks in between having sex. I think my last treatment was in August or September. I have had no  side effects from the treatment so far. No popping etc.  The right doctor makes a huge difference. I could have probably done even better if i didn't have some calcification

Caveman---------Good Move !!!!!
When you do find a specialist pls ask how many cases they have handled.
You want someone with a lot of experience........The point being is that it takes experience, knowledge, and finesse.
I have a friend who went to a regular Euro who treated him w Xiaflex but didn't know what he was doing...
So my friend spent all this money and received NO results !!!!!
Good Luck........
