Title: Just got implant
Post by: Dared on January 18, 2018, 08:29:27 PM
Andrew Kramer performed the procedure. Tomorrow will be 48 hours since the surgery and I'm pretty pleased with the results.

How did he address the peyroines?
Title: Re: Just got implant

He basically assessed the stretchability at the consultation and said good to go. It appears I've at least maintained my previous size but I won't know for sure until it fully heals and I can fully inflate it. I would say my peyronies was so bad I feared he would not do the surgery. However I was wrong and so far it is looking good.

That's great, what model did you go with?

I wish you could have an implant with a little electronic button that you trigger instead of pumping it. I think more people would use it because it's less awkward and a girl could never know that you had one. You just press the button and it inflates slowly during your make out session to full hardness. If this was the case I would totally get one.

Well in a little time we'll have that one activated trough a remoter.

If that were the case bruh I could live with that. A cyborg penis opertated by remote...it would get weird if someone were to hack into it though and you had to give a speech.

Is that a recommended model for peyronies?

According to Kramer it is. He said the fibrosis didn't affect anything he did. He also claims the implant will likely last the rest of my life. I thought someone on here said 8 years but maybe I'm mistaken.

I think that is not true, you would be very lucky if it lasts your whole life at your age. As far as I know and what the doctors say the average life time of an implant is between 10 and 15 years. Some lucky ones lasts more than 15 years, others unfortunate less than 10 years. An implant does not last a lifetime to almost anyone that is not true. I hope you last a long time but be prepared for replacements, I'm also going to an implant between this year.
Congratulations for your successful operation

Ya I heard 8 to 12 years so I don't know why he would say that. Either way I am 8.6 inches length which is up from 6.5 inches pre implant. I was shocked he was able to gain me back so much length but it was probably all that traction I did. Also, he is a top surgeon too which helps.

Wow 8.6 from 6.5? I think i'll go to him as well. I had 7.5-8 before fracture, and am like that on my longer side, if i can get that back with pre injury girth of about 5.5-6 inch i'll be forever happy. How's the girth with lgx? Also did you have any hourglassing?

Ya I believe he said I got 3.4 inches girth but my dick was the size of a pencil going into the surgery so still solid gains.

Ya I had severe hour glassing at the base and sides. I believe the hour glassing at the base was responsible for the majority of my ed because it cut off blood flow from the rest of my penis. Kramer will do modeling when he does the implant which will correct the dents. You should watch his videos on youtube if you want to see how he does it.

Dared.... i am happy you were able to address your issues correctly. As for the length... what are your measurements? I don't want to be that guy... but..

Dared -- Way to man up! Way to own it and take charge!

Regarding the statement Kramer is alleged to have made regarding life expectancy of the AMS LGX 3 piece: How old are you?

What a bunch of us heard about device longevity last year, or last month, may no longer be relevant today. Technology is in constant advancement. I want to know what the basis for Kramer's statement was. That's the only thing that counts -- not what guys think about it.

Do you have a follow up with him, in person or on the phone? Can you ask what he bases the lifespan projection on?

One question, i have hourglass in my perineal part of penis that is as girthy as a "pencil", can that be somehow widened durring surgery, or do you get thinner implant because of it?

I may be wrong but I think your confusing your total implant size to your actual penis size.

If he implanted a 22cm implant, about a third of that will be inside your body.
Before Peyronies if you were 8 or 9, then theoretically he could cut/break the scar tissue to regain you back some size.

I'm guessing with some aggressive cylcling, your implant you will end up at about 7, based on your starting 6.5.

Anyway, pleased and happy your surgery went well for you.
Hope you enjoy playing with your new toy ;D

Ya he said 22 cm so you could be right. John W I don't have a follow up appointment. I must admit I was surprised when he said it would last the rest of my life because that goes against everything I've heard everywhere else including FT. I could try to email him or you could even email him about it if you want. Prfact, I cannot inflate it yet as the incision wound is still healing so can't give measurements at the moment. I got the measurement from Kramer at the post op. He said its 22 cm but as redbullmaster pointed out he was probably referring to the size of the implant which may not correlate exactly to the size I will get when pumped up as part of it may be inside my body. I do not know but I will see soon enough once I heal.

Hrvat, my understanding is you can choose an implant to increase girth or length but not both. Kramer has a reputation for being very aggressive with adding size which is one the reasons I chose him to do the procedure. My penis was wasting away and as you can see from my below average girth measurements after the implant, if I had waited much longer I may have been in an even worse situation size wise. Then again, my peyronies is extremely severe so probably not as big an issue for most.

For the record, if I were to have an implant, I would fly to Baltimore and Kramer would be the one doing the work. Over the last two years I've watched all of his videos on YouTube:

- his bedside manner
- his ability to talk freely about male performance and sex is refreshing, he gets it!
- his commitment to deliver a complication free, infection free experience is FANTASTIC
- and he fixes other surgeons' mistakes (like any other part of the human body)

Based on everything I've read, and watched, and even an e-mail exchange I had with Dr. Kramer at one point, I am confident you picked the very best surgeon for this condition and this procedure.

Do follow up and keep us posted. This is probably the best solution for some of us, and your experience is invaluable.

Best,
Nemo

Insurance coverage is still pending but they will cover it. I called and got the diagnostic codes to make sure. My deductible is 500$ so that would be the what I am expecting to pay. They assured me that the procedure was fully covered under my plan so we'll see... The secretary said they will fight them if they try not to cover. They clearly list it as a covered procedure under my plan so there's not much they can do other than pay up.

I believe it is 22,000 without insurance. Also, while I was at Kramers office I saw that they said they can provide financial aid for those without insurance if you call ahead and let them know you need help. Might be worth a shot.

Yes Nemo, I really didn't have a choice because my peyronies was too severe. Any other surgery such as grafting would've only lead to worse ed and loss of size. Accepting that fact made it an easy decision for me in the end. Those with mild or even moderate peyronies I would say do the grafting because you have a better shot to avoid the ed from nerve damage when you have less scar tissue. For me, there was no way any surgeon, no matter how skilled, was going to remove all of my scar tissue without hitting nerve bundle and causing loss of sensation. Besides, even with grafting I would've almost certainly still needed the implant anyway because of severe ed. So I am at peace with my decision.

maybe depends on what modelling technique you undergo with it..

Any thoughts on the most sliding technique?

The LGX is the only model that expands in length (L) and girth (G).  With aggressive daily cycling (pumping up and holding it for a period of time) there will be gains in both-but not beyond your own penis' ability to stretch.  (Thus takes about a year.) Also, kramer has a new video out where he released the plaque (sliced through) and loosely sutured to eliminate the hour glass, he's the only implant surgeon that I know of that will do this.

Hello,

First of all congratulations and to wish you a rapid recovery.

There is a thing that I do not understand...
The implant model.
It is said up to the satiety, that the model of implant recommended for Peironye is the Titan...

What does Kramer do to be praised by the LGX...?

When we talk penises 8 inches and more we are talking the 0.5% of men so apparently this is the huge penises forum more than the broken penises forum, kudos guys your situation could be 99.5% worse  ;D

Just my viewpoint about whether to GET an implant or NOT to get an implant:

There are many posts with POSITIVE as well as NEGATIVE reasons to consider getting a penile implant in many posts on the main forum.

Research on the main forum will reveal many posts by many members stating that ONLY AFTER, REPEAT, AFTER ALL OTHERS METHODS OF THERAPY FOR Peyronies Disease HAVE BEEN EXHASTED AND LONG CONSIDERATION AND CONSULTATION WITH A QUALIFIED UROLOGIST TOTALLY WITH ENOUGH EXPERIENCE OF DOING IMPLANTS AND THE PATIENT IS SATISFIED WITH THOSE RESULTS SHOULD AN IMPLANT EVEN BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS METHOD OF THERAPY FOR Peyronies Disease.

The final decision should be made ONLY after all positive and negative consideration have been satisified in ones mine as well as any spouse, or other partners involved with the case. IMHO THE DECISION SHOULD BE DONE JOINTLY WITH ALL INTERESTED  PARTIES.

The above carries my usual caveat in circumstances like this: LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I too am scheduled for implant surgery the first week of August.  I am about equal distance from Dr. Kramer and Dr. Eid (actually a little closer to Dr. Kramer) but I chose Dr. Eid in Manhattan.  I have already had a consultation and I lean toward a Coloplast Titan but will let the expert make the final decision after I express my preference and concerns.  My research suggests there is a lot of misconception about the lengthening of the AMS LGX.  Its advantage is that it shortens when deflated so you have a little less cumbersome package.  It also has limited girth expansion but that is not an issue as long as the limits are as great or greater than your potential girth.  I have come to conclude that the vast majority of women who care at all, would prefer a little more girth rather than a little more length.  That being said, a doctor that does hundreds of these a year will likely promise you to retain pre-op length with either model.  Trust me if traction 3 plus hours a day at MAXIMUM tension cannot stretch your penis any further, you can bet that an inflatable prosthesis will not.

PS: I am also considering being awake with a spinal during surgery.

Spinal have his own negative effects.
I had a prostate and bladder surgery with spinal, the side effect was very strong pain in my left leg that made me to walk with a stick for 8 months.
