It is with regret and sadness that we announce that Old Man, the last of our remaining founding forum members and a man that many knew as a friend, passed from this life a few months ago.  He had not long before celebrated his ninety-fifth birthday. He just lost his wife of fifty-nine years just a couple of years ago. We knew of his admission to convalescent care months ago and spoke to him on several occasions.

For over twenty years, Old Man has helped countless men with his knowledge of Peyronies Disease in general and specifically his knowledge of the Vacuum Erection Device. He honestly preceded the medical community in establishing the value of this treatment, which almost every doctor dismissed at the time. Anyone who knew him knew his willingness to help everyone. In addition to his volunteer help here, he was an online counselor for men battling cancer.

I have to ask seriously if the existence of this forum is not, in large part, due to Old Man. When I founded the forerunner to this forum, I was unknown in Peyronies Disease circles, but Old Man was already an established and respected member of the Peyronies Disease community.  Many forums came and went, but only two poorly run forums existed when I launched the forum.  We had about ten members. Within a few weeks, Old Man trusted me enough to give us a try and came over. That was his stamp of approval and a dozen well-known, active members immediately followed him. That was the beginning of the growth of this forum, and within a year, the other forums went under.

Old Man grew up working on his family farm in the 1930s before joining the Navy to start his 37-year military career. He also served in the Army National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and Navy Reserve. In his community, he was known as a master of many skills, and his life was defined by helping those in need. He faithfully attended church services and Bible study classes almost to the end of his life and he was a longtime member of his local Masonic Lodge.

Whether he helped you directly or helped you indirectly by supporting this forum, we all owe Old Man a debt of gratitude, a salute, and a moment of silence as he leaves us to be back by the side of his dear wife.

Until we meet again, old friend!

Quote from: Mikel7 on December 09, 2024, 05:34:39 AMLike Pfrat said you might try a small dosage of Cialis (2.5 mg) to see if this will help you. It can reduce inflammation and help with healing. Also I used heat therapy for pain and it worked wonderfully for relief. If you don't do anything things could get worse.

I want to try heat therapy, but heat promotes inflammation as well, gotta try to see if it helps. I get vitamine B and Carnitine infusions 2 times a week to help with inflammation. My main concern next to ED is the immense pain, if the pain would subsidie, i would try Cialis definitely.

Do you use a heat lamp?

Quote from: Ethan on December 09, 2024, 02:07:32 PMDo you think your vitamins / supplements make much of a difference?

I don't think taking supplements makes a difference to be honest.

I was regularly on ketogenic diet Mon-Fri and fasted 20/4 with cheat days on weekends.

Doing all of this before I even developed peyronies as I was training in combat sports so needed to make weight at the time.

I'd often do 48 hour fasts and on a few ocassions went 72 hours.

I did this all BEFORE I ever even had peyronies and STILL got it.

I developed peyronies because of a few factors.

I was having vigorous sex at orgies taking large doses of Sildenafil & Tadalafil forcing myself to perform and have lots of sex in a single night.

This and taking Finasteride for 10 years for hair loss.

Quote from: BentKnob on December 08, 2024, 04:28:48 PMThanks for that.

I do the following:

10 min - straight stretching
10 min - counterbend downwards
10 min - couterbend upwards

30 mins 1x a day Mon-Fri
30 mins 2x a day Sat & Sun

I'm hoping this will correct a 20-30° curve that goes up to the left.

I started with VED but then stopped. I was doing 5x 2 min sessions - 10 minutes in total.

Do you think your vitamins / supplements make much of a difference?

I asked Prof Ralph if there are any foods that are Good or Bad for peyronies.
He just said "No", but added that there would be "no harm" in talking Vitamin E, Carnitine and Co Enzyme Q10, but with no real evidence of any benefit.

It would have felt better to find some solid evidence of a food / supplement that could prevent future plaque development.

Back in Summer '22 I had a blood test with a private doctor, and he though that it was probably a blood stagnation that caused the plaque build up in the first place. The private doc did say that it might be beneficial to take:

L Arganine
Cartinine
Ginsing (by Detox Trading)
Pine Pollen (to boost testosterone)
Vit B12
Iron (possibly)
Follic Acid

Later in the summer of '22, i spoke with one of Prof Ralph's assistants and asked him about Arginine and supplements. He said that Arganine, along with Vitamin E and Pentox wouldn't help now, because I'm past the 'active phase'.

Apologies for not replying all the way back in 2022. I did buy my VED from the company mypelvichealth.co.uk and also RestoreX some time later.

My first plaque, just below the glans, has almost completely vanished, with no bend or hourglass shape.

However, after starting this thread, around Nov-2022, I experienced a new plaque near the base of the shaft. This is still much more of a problem. The downward & right bend has reduced from 30 degrees to 20 degrees, but the collaring near the base hasn't really changed.

I have been told by the urologist that it is the VED that is best suited to reduce the collaring, but it can't seem to fix the problem - due to the collaring being so close to the base.

Not much found. Appreciate feedback if someone has had the same issue :)

Yes with the vacuum suice :)
I will search more thoroughly again :)

I would say to try and do a forum search to see if any other users had that issue as well before. I personally never used the PMP but I think it's the once with the vacuum sluice on it?
