Title: Question About Night and Morning Erections
Post by: John B on January 12, 2013, 12:58:49 PM
Lately, I've been petty hyper-aware of the states of my penis. I wake up all night with erections, and in the morning, but I'm not sure if they are as hard as they used to be.

My question is, if one is developing Peyronie's do the night and morning erections gradually get softer and softer over time, or do they suddenly cease to be?

I think it varies from person to person, but I have had Peyronies Disease for nearly 18months and no reduction of erections whatsoever.

I know you saw a Urologist but was he a Peyronies Disease expert ?  Many of your questions center around determining if you have Peyronies Disease, but diagnosis should be the responsibility of your doctor.   I would recommend seeing someone with lots of experience so you can get all the answers you need.

I saw a urologist in my area. At first, he checked me and said I do not have Peyronie's. He said everything looks and feels normal. No lumps. No curve. No loss of erections. Then I reminded him I've had a burning pain in the left side of my penis for 6 months. He said he can only think it's the start of Peyronie's and told me to take 400 UI of Vitamin E, twice daily. I certainly don't think he was a Peyronie's expert. But I don't have insurance and I can't even think of who'd be an expert in my area.

Is it possible this burning pain in the left side of my penis isn't even Peyronie's?

He prescribed Vitamin E which means he is NOT a Peyronies Disease expert.  Do yourself a favor and see a good doctor, you owe it to yourself to get the best treatment possible.  I can not say whether you have Peyronies Disease or not, but if you do, delaying treatment will lower your odds of a favorable long term outcome.

Ok... I don't have insurance right now, so I hope it's not... I'm taking Ubiquinol, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, L-Arginine, Vitamin E, and Turmeric for inflammation, just in case...

John B

You should see a Peyronies expert to know if you have Peyronies or not.
In my opinion you can can add Pentox to your treatment until you will see the Peyronies expert. It will just increase the oxygen supply and may stop the progression of the disease if it is Peyronies.

After getting all the supplements, I can't afford Pentox right now. I also take a beta-blocker for hypertension and heart palpitations, which I've had since 20 years old... I wonder if beta-blockers haven't aided in this inflammation of the penis... Who knows. I'm just hoping it's not even Peyronie's and clears up in time.

But what is the odds of it not being Peyronie's when you have a burning pain for 6 months?

JohnB,

Just a friendly note to tell you I have had to clean up quotes out of about a dozen of your posts.  Do NOT use the quote button when replying to a post.  Use the REPLY button at the top of the topic.

I really think the ONLY time the quote button is appropriate for is when the specific comment being addressed is way down in the  thread, and then the quote itself should be only the relevant phrase or sentence, ALMOST NEVER the whole post.  I have seen brief comments accompanied by multiple nested quotes which only create confusion and make following the thread more difficult.  A lot of the concept of managing the quote button is a matter of using common sense.  When you do have to use the quote button, make SURE you SLICE OUT all of the irrelevant language from the quote INCLUDING any and all irrelevant nested quotes.  AND realize that Hawk and James do have other things they need to do in life beside continually editing this forum.  - George

John, it sounds like peyronies to me, but I'm not doctor. Also, all beta blockers list Peyronie's Disease as side effect. Some men on this forum believe that's how they acquired their peyronie's.

And in regards to pentox, it's pretty cheap if you get it from overseas. I have terrible insurance that doesn't cover office visits or prescriptions, so going the online pharmacy route was virtually a necessity for me.

Yeah, I think it's Peyronie's too, caused by the beta-blocker atenolol. For the last 3 days I wake up with only semi-erections, whereas last week they were fairly solid.

Do you think anxiety and stress from all this can affect night time erections? Last week I had pretty strong night erections, now I wake up and they are semi-erect and start dropping fast.

Most likely gradual. Then again as I was destroying my penis I paid no heed to the beginnig symptoms. It just ceased to be one day.
