Will most urologist do a blood test to see if anything else shows up prior to doing any treatments for Peyronies Disease? Or before using Xiaflex?
I would think only if you have other symptoms that would require a blood test for diagnosis. Peyronies alone would not indicate a need for a blood test.
Might get your testosterone and related hormones tested.

Yeah I agree. As part of the
overall Peyronies diagnosis, a T level test may be done, even though there is no conclusive evidence that low T causes Peyronies or indeed that T level 'correction' treats Peyronies.
In terms of a blood test
specifically done for and prior to Xiaflex treatment. I don't see why and have never heard of it and my Uro hasn't mentioned it. Xiaflex is not a systemic treatment, it's a small/micro local injection. Other than an allergic reaction, which a blood test wouldn't forecast that's about the sum of it
Also possibility low T makes one more susceptible to PyD
Tony - How are your results with the Xiaflex treatments thus far?
Not good, curve has increased from 65 to 90 degrees
Sorry to hear that. How many cycles have you done? Did you have an ultrasound and what have you done post treatments?
Two rounds. Pentox, cialis, many supplements, traction and some VED.
I'm sorry to hear that as well Tony. What does Dr. Lue say about the results thus far?
Just that the plaque is unusually hard, he practically injures his finger trying to inject the medication! Strange as no calcification...
I had a similar expierence during my second round. My Dr knew that it was going to be difficult as he began to insert the needle and immediatly asked for assistance in holding my penis so he could use both hands so he wouldn't go through the plaque. I could see the controlled force he used to enter and how quickly he backed off to avoid going through it. One thing I've noticed after my third cycle is that when the injection is spot on, I can feel the Xiaflex being injected into the plaque. Not just the needle hitting it but the liquid going in.
Whatnext - What have your results with the Xiaflex been?
Yea, last time he ended up going through the plaque and injecting which caused massive bruising for two weeks. ☹️
