Title: I think I'll get an implant soon
Post by: Jack1909 on January 18, 2023, 11:38:47 AM
Been a while since the last time I posted in here, but I bet many still remember my story.

Many years gone by and I have all the same issues I discussed here about:

- pain, at this very point, I'm pretty sure it will last forever. It really drains me and in 10 years I have not found a way around it

- ED, severe, it prevents me from having intercourse. "fun" fact I can have pretty strong erections, even without pills, but there is no way to keep them when I start "using" it.

What it really has changed it's me. I'm all but happy of course. But I got back on track, jobwise, every day life wise, exc. My libido is great, surpsingly I would say, but I do have libido like healthy people of my age have. Furthermore, I started feeling healthy again. I still have many NO-moments, but I reckon this is a major step I got to take, somehow.

The point is,  at this point, I would really love to have an healthy relationship. 32 years old, I tried many, but it's damn difficult to keep it ...I don't think I need to explain myself on this.

The solution, an implant soon? Honestly I don't want to have an implant done, but it seems like there is no other viable option. The alternative seems to be sexless life. What I can't really wrap my mind around is the following: I still can't think of it as a solution, rather as something I'm forced into.

Is there anyone here undergoing this surgery more like forced into doing it, rather than being aware of the chance he had, and many did not in the past?

I am sharing your feelings to 100%

You are 3 years older than me, basically we are in the same position. Who wants to make in implant? No more natural erections. You have to pump your ballsack to mechanically inflate your penis at such a young age. Sure it does provide rock solid erections that will stay up untill you make it go down. That is a huge advantage over guys with normal dicks. But then there is the fact that due to our young age we will most likely have to go through multiple revisions!

The complication risk becomes higher and higher with each revision. It is a surgery in my opinion that you simply cannot be half arsed about. If you are going to do it you have to be absolutely 100% certain because there is no going back when it is done. This is not an easy decision to take for any man at our age however that's life. Sometime reality is brutal.

This disease makes you feel empty, drained of life energy, hollow and alone. The mental side of it, the ups and downs, they are wicked. Gone from a great sex life to not being intimate with anyone for 2 years. I eat healthy, do high intensty excercise and have weaker erections than a 85 year old!!

Whatever you decide to do I wish you the best of luck and I am truly sorry this happened to you.

Let's say an implant would be permanent and required no revision.

I would do it today if I had the chance then. The revision requirement is what makes me scared.

Then of course it's the risk of it all going incredibly bad, even though it's low, the risk is always there.

An infection could literally kill you if unlucky!!

On the same boat, I'm been reading about implants for 3 years now, there are hundreds of men complaining on the forums on how bad their implants are, hundreds regretting it, do I want to take the ultimate risk?. Now my only problem are having solid erections, but with the implant I could have the risk to add chronic pain, lack of sensitivity, cold glans, infection, floppy glans, urethra puncture, problems with peeing, erosion, necrosis, loss of lenght and girth..... and is not going back. I will only do an implant if I was 100% sure to take the risks

Thanks Bud Luck for being that supportive hahah. I think most of it, as always, revolves around the surgeon performing the surgery. If i pick, for istance, dr. Eid, I don't even wanto to think about any of the complications you listed up. Any patient of him ever experienced them?

Sonic, in my case I have been around penis issues since I was 16, now I'm 32. I'm all but happy with taking this chance but what I'm supposed to say. I have not being having intercourse for 9 years, basically. And I do know what getting through penile surgery means. It's not like getting some fresh air as many people/surgeons state.

If you have the money to do the surgery with him you should. He is the Picasso of implants.

Seems like you have taken a decision to do it regardless. That is good. Hope it goes well.

We are all in the same boat here but honestly, so many men live happily with an implant. Ive had several zoom/phone conversations with younger implantees (28-40 yrs of age) and we talked about it all. Some had revisions. Id say my personal dilemma lies in my unreliable erections, they still work and my semi erections are horrible. I just have a feeling with my progression ill either end up with an implant at some stage but is it better now -before I risk any shrinkage? Erectile Dysfunction will do that to you, all the info I gathered most had Erectile Dysfunction and a loss of nocturnals which is a bad deal all around.

Revisions scare me a lot which Ive covered extensively on every phone call I made. From a mental aspect, most have been able to put the constantly looming dark cloud of Erectile Dysfunction behind them. Are they still worried -yes. But for the "most part" they last a long time. Remember most who do post are the ones that have had mishaps or went with a lowered volume surgeon. Tomorrows never guaranteed but the ever present Erectile Dysfunction is. I get the mental anguish though, "will I be looking over my shoulder daily when its gonna fail, plus down time etc", these are too real to me because Im a real anxious person but the depression my hourglass has put me through even though it straightens out when Im fully hard, just makes sex a chore -almost never enjoyable. Its always like, let me load up on Cialis and make sure I don't go soft during sex, or focus on finishing quick so it doesn't look like I can't keep hard. These things make sex no fun. there are many guys out there who have a listing implant for 8-10 years using it a lot as well. I talked with a gentleman who leaves it 20% inflated and his remaining natural arousal makes it hard enough for sex so that he doesn't have to overuse the pump.

Bottom line after researching all this stuff for years now is that sex, has become much less enjoyable for me. Im not saying an implant is panacea but its a damn good option and the gold standard for peyronies. Theres a new coloplast supposedly more durable out on the horizon. One of the top surgeons offices that I spoke with, including a patient from there (contacted separately) both confirmed that people from all walks of life get them. This includes full contact-sports personalities and people you see on TV. I felt and still feel like im singled out with a curse a disease especially keeping my health #1 since my teen years but it doesn't discriminate.. people from all walks of life/levels of wealth get afflicted but they ain't gonna go public about it. One gentleman told me (Im a member of a few support forums for implants), that he finally told his friends about it afterwards and to his surprise 2 of them were already living with an implant and never said anything about it. Is it common -no, but more common than you'd think. Im not in the camp of going down the route of all the pills/shots as for me personally pills proved unreliable, supposedly the way my body breaks them down per my doc and trimix will mostly cause scarring down the line if you like to use it more than a couple of times a week. Ive had people of the opinion that nothing beats a natural erection -I believe this to be true also. But what about no fuss sex and be able to just bang away to the point of waking up the neighbors and not go soft and the constant dread of re-injuring yourselves? Mines progressively gotten mild worse year by year until a final painful re-injury by masturbation this year. Some never took action until shrinkage/shortening set in and Im very happy with my size -not about to let that happen. But its a big decision, Im not implanted as of yet so I fully understand where you guys are at mentally. I wouldn't wish this crap upon anyone. Its just a crushing blow to the central being of any man. Ive been told many times "don't let this define you" or "you're much more than this", that's great and all but lets be honest here.. sex is like a glue in a relationship. So unless you want a best friend in my opinion, just work down the route and find the best solution.

One guys put it this way that really hit me "no matter how bad your situation, even if you made a bad decision and made it worse, evaluate and what is the NEXT BEST step to take". You can't rewind time weather its one day or a decade, just take a step each day, call your insurance and see if implants are excluded or not. If they are, try to get a new one. Some accept payments or you can take out a loan. Lastly just wanted to finish by saying, the mental toll this has taken on me included -because im such a fixer, Ive made as much contact with fellow implatees as possible and believe it or not even the ones with revisions have said, -based on how this thing performs id do this every 3 years! Dr Eid says you'd want to limit 2-3 revisions in one post but I have yet to hear of anyone running out of revisions as of yet. Sure, for someone completely out of options/severe impotence the choice may be more clear cut vs say where Im at, still functioning but unreliable. But I miss the one night stands where I can just take anyone home, or even be able to please two at a time for the heck of it. Just wanted to share the info Ive gathered so far from men from all walks of life, from what Ive discovered. It gives me a sense of calm that Im not on this journey alone and frankly, without these forums, id have probably lost my mind too. Sorry about the rant and I hope this helps on your journey -I will be documenting mine when I get to that point:)

I have to agree with Dent.

To be honest reliable erections for as long as I like and as firm as I like is what I want. I LOVED Trimix the only thing I didn't like about it was the 4 hour time limit. Plus with an IPP I think I could feel peaceful not having to worry about will I get hard etc.

Definitely a personal decision though. If you are in your 30's I find it hard to imagine a new treatment wont come along in the next 40 years. Human trials for Bioengineered corpora cavernosas just started this year...

First, I should not have to explain that I have been very active on many forums.  I do NOT believe there are hundreds of men complaining about implants.  That is nonsense.  It is established as the very best patient satisfaction rate of any penis solution.  How many people on this forum are complaining?  ALMOST NONE.

Yes, as with everything in life, there are risks.  You could get killed or become a paraplegic on the way to your implant appointment.  Also, keep in mind that the majority of implant surgeries are performed by surgeons who do only a handful of implants per year.  Therein lies most of the risk.

Finally, if you have not had intercourse in a decade, then you are risking nothing even if you had me do your implant (well, maybe your life), but you get the point.  Your dick is not going to become worse than useless.  If it is useless now, then the risk is ZERO!

Hawks post make so much sense. As he has, Ive been active on multiple forums and so many men just leave the forums once implanted and enjoy the crap out of their rock hard erections. Sometimes I wonder, since Ive always had some sort of ED, weather this is a new life where I never have to worry about it working, would be absolutely amazing. God knows how many opportunities ive passed up due to unreliable erections
