Title: Cost of IPP surgery
Post by: rakeshgupta2021 on December 02, 2021, 10:37:19 PM
I fell off the chair looking at the cost of my IPP surgery. Most of it is covered by insurance, but it is a hefty tag. Needless to say, I hit the limits on deductibles, etc. I have not seen much discussion on cost on this board, so don't want to put out numbers without getting the moderator's OK.

There is no problem with discussing cost or any other legitimate issue here.

Total 150K cost @ standard prices.
Final   55K cost at insurance negotiated prices.
About   5K cost to me.

That does seem insanely high.  Last I knew an implant from Dr. Eid cost about $25,000 cash pay for those without insurance that came from overseas.

"Cash" price is going to be completely different than when insurance is involved.  Ever look at a bill from the ER?  $12 for one regular Advil
