My case of peyronies is not severe enough for surgery but I was curious on the effect that non-implant surgeries such as plication have on buckling.
Does straightening out the curve actually do anything to fix 'buckling'? Like if someone has an upward curve, they can still 'fold' their penis upwards when they're erect which is what I mean by buckling, whereas the non-affected sides have resistance/stability which prevents the penis from folding in those directions when erect.
I'm pretty sure implant surgeries completely fix buckling and pretty much every other symptom/form of peyronies, which is why I specified non-implant surgeries. Please correct me if im wrong.
I am sure you are just referencing plication surgery? This is basically when they take the opposite side of the penis and tighten it down with sutures to straighten things out. There are other forms of grafting etc...They all try to accomplish one thing, the straightening of the deformity.

That was definitely one of them, I'm not too sure on the other ones but I know there are others, like when they cut out the scar and replace it with a graft, and one called 'nesbit' which to be honest im not familiar with, etc.
Im aware they definitely straighten the curve, was mostly curious their effect on buckling specifically. For example the surgery where they cut out the plaque and replace it with a graft - would that fix the buckling since theres technically no scarred area anymore?

Plaque excision and grafting. I don't think anyone can answer that question except someone who has done that specific surgery. I would assume the graft is meant to give some support.
This would be an excellent question to ask one of our gracious Dr's here on the forum.

Interesting question. That is the procedure I had to straighten my curve. But I never had or experienced buckling so I can't speak to it.
Dr Levine, in this video, says incision and grafting does fix the buckling.
