Hi I am new here and looking to learn how to deal with this disease. My Husband of 8 years has been diagnosed with Peyronies Disease and it is causing a huge strain on our marriage. So here I am trying to learn how to be a supportive spouse and partner.

He needs to see a competent Urologist - a Peyronie's specialist. There's a list on this site. Both of you should read all you can here. There is more accumulated knowledge about the disease on this site than is possessed by 99% of urologists.
He needs an ultrascan to determine the extent of the plaque. Most of the proven effective treatments you can read about here. Arm yourself with as much info as you can before his appointment. Ask questions, and if you don't like the answers, find another Uro.

Thank you both. He has seen the urologist and the urologist suggested injections or surgery. He stated that with his experience the injections didnt always work and sometimes had to happen more than one time. He said he has had more success with the surgery than the injections. This is the route we plan to take for know unless God and or Uro says there is a better more efficient way. I have been reading here on lots of things. It has been a year since we were diagnosed.
Before surgery we all urge you try have him try the oral therapies and physical therapies used on these boards and by specialists.
Pentox, cialis, CoQ10/ubiquinol, ALCAR, traction and VED therapy.
You don't specify which type of surgery is being talked about here. As Neo says, depending on how bad and constricting his condition is, we would suggest you try other, less drastic remedies, before going down the surgical route.
If you do decide on surgery, check the list of recommended or highly thought of surgeons on the site. I think it goes without saying that he wants to be very careful just who he lets near his penis with a scalpel.
According to what my husband has told me (i do not go into exam room with him as it makes him uncomfortable) the dr was talking of doing the plication. His curvature is upward and he has a slight hour glass effect at the base of the shaft. I am awaiting a call back from the dr my self to find out EXACTLY what the surgery entails and which procedure he has in mind. We do not have the money to travel and we are with the best surgeon that performs this in our area.

I second this suggestion. I strongly recommend trying the proven treatments listed above before surgical intervention.
The cost is far less, the chance of serious complications far far far less and many people have had great results from the above treatments. Surgery should be considered as a final resort, not a frontline treatment.
