Title: Has anyone heard of: Scenar Advantage ( therapeutic electro-stimulation)
Post by: db lane on February 17, 2013, 05:38:41 PM
First off: I am not in any way representing the company or the product.... This device was suggested to me by my family doctor as he know clients that have fixed claw fingers and ligament issues with it... Im not sure if this device works similar to others and is the same or not. I emailed the company directly to ask if they had known of anyone trying the device with peyronies and they responded saying they have and its on going and there has been positive signs, (so not sure if this was just a sales guy talking or not), but I have a chance to test it out soon, and wondering if I should have any concerns..

Here is a copy off their site that helps explain what it does:

The SCENAR devices stimulate the skin surface with specifically shaped electric impulses, based on the patterns of natural nervous discharges. Constant measurement of electric skin parameters provides an intelligent feedback mechanism, involving the patient (sensing the power of stimulation), the device (measuring the skin parameters to dose duration and intensity of delivered impulses) and the operator (applying the device to the proper location for a proper amount of time).

The pattern of SCENAR discharges stimulates the nervous pathways, restoring and regulating conductivity, thus improving nervous regulation of affected organs and tissues. All SCENARdevices, both professional and home use implement this feedback system for precise measurement of delivered stimulation.

The impulse shape, based on the natural nervous discharges, is readily accepted by the organism, with a patented modulation algorithm preventing accommodation - subtle modifications in the impulse parameters do not let the targeted pathways become accustomed and no longer receptive to the treatment. The impulse shape and power settings allow for intense, but non-damaging stimulation of all nervous paths in the body.  SCENAR devices include an amplitude modulation mode, with special impulse settings to facilitate hormonal and immune response and stimulate muscle activity. This stimulates blood and lymph circulation, improves tissue nutrition, and provides an anti-inflammatory effect.  Another SCENAR feature is a diagnostic mode, measuring the electrical response of the skin to a "sample" discharge. This is used by the SCENAR devices themselves for selecting the optimally sensitive places and duration of treatment.

Your feed back is welcome
Thanks db

Ps: I believe my previous post was deleted by the moderator with any explanation, if there is an issue with this post your explanation is welcome.

Don't have any problems with your explanation, we just don't want posts that includes links to commercial sites ore explanations that promote one kind of product.
Regarding your concerns, I can't help you, you should address them to your doctor or to the device manufacturer.
Good luck with using it, let us know how are the results. :)
By the way, my uro proposed me some treatment that sounds similar. I decided not to go with after I understand that don't have yet any trial in the subject and have just "slight" chance it will work.

Yes, I believe it can work and I'm willing to try it but the cost is out of range for me right now.

This product is used to break down scar tissue, and apparently works very well, and you can purchase a home unit..

Is there any independent research whatsoever to show that the method by which this machine works actually can have an effect on breaking up scar tissue?

I will be contacting the company again, and hopefully test try a unit out...

Regarding
Quoteindependent research
don't have according to my uro, it is a new experimental approach that "some" uro's reported "some" positive results.
In the country I am living now have one doctor with one device.

Skunkworks

Thanks for the link. SCENAR is supported by a very "deep" research 8)
I agree with the writer ;)

Or, you could just experiment with a TENS unit. The idea would be to destroy the integrity of the plaque so Pentox could dissolve it. Or, something like that.

What if you experiment with a tens unit and it causes a flare up of fibrosis throughout your penis?

I really discourage experimenting on body parts you only have one of.  I think it is fine to experiment on your eye for example, or your kidney, but heart, penis, and brain, should be off limits for random experimentation.  That is what lab rats are bred for. ;)

Again is there any independent research showing that the TENS unit can have any effect on breaking up scar tissue whatsoever? Or is this just a very random shot in the dark?

Random shot.

Here's how I would do it:

Set the TENS pads on the penis and start at the lowest possible setting. If it hurts or doesn't feel right, just stop.

A TENS unit increases blood flow so theoretically, it should help. I have no idea. But, I wish I had a lab rat with Peyronie's so like Hawk suggested, I could try it on him. :)

So far there has been zero evidence posted that this kind of electrical stimulation can have any effect at all on scar tissue/plaques, so this whole thread could be one big joke.

It is reasonably easy to grasp why something like extracorporeal shock wave therapy might be able to break up scar tissue. The same cannot be said of this product.

I tried it like 2 or three times and then, coincidentally,I got a flare up and have since thrown it in the trash. I know now to be patient and stick to my pumping and stretching treatments. There I'm your rat.
