Title: Stock Exchange Activism - Endo International?
Post by: FlatteningTheCurve on October 12, 2021, 04:08:48 PM
Hi all,

As far as I can tell, Endo International is the company that owns the right to Xiaflex: https://www.endo.com/endopharma/our-products

The company is based in the US and is listed on the stock exchange there. A recent trend that I have noticed (might not be recent at all, just a case of me not noticing it until now) is for individuals to buy stocks in a company and use their right as shareholders to table motions at the annual meetings. I have seen it in other cases such as peace activists against defence contractors or environmental activists against large-scale industrial manufacturers. Such an opportunity could be used to voice opinions raised in the forum, for example the fact that a lot of people struggling not being able to access Xiaflex treatments outside of the US.

Now, I am not saying that all of us buying stocks in that company is guaranteed to change their mind on making Xiaflex available to markets outside of the US, but it can certainly be an opportunity for activism and advocacy on part of members here.

What do others think?
