Title: Firm bump at injection site
Post by: Dent-n-curve on November 25, 2023, 10:41:00 PM
I had Xiaflex round3 about 2.5 weeks ago. After the second of the two injections, I developed a firm, pea-sized lump as a side effect at the site of one of the injections. The doc's PA had a look and said it should go down in time. Gonna look at it again at the six week followup.

Unlike all the other inflamed areas, this pea is definitely not disappearing yet.  Seems like it hasn't gone down at all yet.  I know it's only 2 1/2 weeks, but I'm finding this kinda disconcerting.

Has anyone else experienced these?  Any tips on expectations for how long they stick around, and/or anything to help?  (PA suggested mild heat)

I have a pea size bump when erect. It developed after my last Xiaflex injection. (Trost). It is near an injection site, but it's near the base (about an inch up), so it doesn't bother me much. Definity not painful. I'm not certain what caused it. I have not consulted with Dr. Trost about it. I'm 10 months after the last shot. The lump/bump doesn't hurt and you can only see or feel it when erect. But, it is very noticeable. Nothing felt when flaccid. I hope it's not a vein or something that can burst. I was going to give it a year after my last injection and then ask Dr. Trost about it. I really don't want anymore needles stuck in my penis. I'm happy with the result I got from Trost. He did say it can that a year or so to heal completely.

Just to follow up.  I asked and was told (by doctor) that this pea sized bump is probably a hernia. Due to a weak spot in the tunica. He has seen several of them.  And it isn't going away. It won't get worse and it won't get better. It can be fixed, but only with a plication like surgery.
It doesn't hurt me, it's just there. And I'm still straight. So, I'll opt to live with it.

Updating:  the bump I had has vanished, though it took over 5 months.
