Title: New Member - Hi everyone!
Post by: paulT on January 12, 2023, 08:38:45 PM
I'm Paul and am self-diagnosed, although my uro concurs with my self-diagnosis.  Unfortunately, he says the medical facility he's part of does not treat Peyronie's.  He suggested I consider a traction device.  I was quite shocked at his response.  He's a UCLA trained urologist.  I have early stage prostate cancer, so I thought this would be an "easy one" for him.  Nope.

My Peyronies Disease isn't horrible.  It just kind of showed up one day... at least that's how I noticed it.  Then I started reading up and eventually found my way here.  it's not terribly painful and hasn't, so far, caused any sexual function issues.  I have no ED.

I also have Dupuytren's Contracture, aka "trigger finger", where the pinkies curl in and cannot be straightened out.  I've been able to avoid that disease progressing and have complete and normal function of both hands.  My uro says there's a direct connection to people who have DC and Peyronies Disease (I believe it's excess collagen build-up).

My DC has been steadily REGRESSING.  It could be luck or it could be due to my lifestyle changes which include a 100% plant-based diet and rigorous exercise 4-6 x's a week.  I instituted these lifestyle changes in 2017 right after my PCa diagnosis.  So far, my cancer has not required any treatment.  I believe it's due to the lifestyle changes.  My uro's not so sure (he's a surgeon).  I hope this can also help the Peyronies Disease regress.

I'm open to trying traction.  That's my first reason for joining this forum... to see what traction items might work or if there's a better self-treatment.

I'm happy to share my experience with anyone on the forum who wants to know more about my lifestyle changes.  Maybe they'll help with the Peyronies Disease?

Thanks for reading and for all the help in advance.

Paul

I believe restorex is the device with the most clinical data and developed by Mayo Clinic and Dr. Trost.
