Title: 36 year old here
Post by: mike1123 on June 22, 2019, 02:16:55 AM
Hi.  I am 36 and have been diagnosed with peyronie's for about 3 years.  I went and saw a urologist who gave me verapamil injections that did nothing.  He referred me to a peyronie's specialist who recommended xiaflex but my insurance won't pay for it.  I'm not sure what to do at this point.  I have a plaque at the base of my penis and the curvature is more than 30 degrees.  I don't remember getting injured.  I have a hard time masturbating and am not sure if I can have sex because I am single, but I would guess not.  I guess my strategy is to just live with this disease the best I can.  I signed up for OkCupid but dating feels impossible.  Also, it's hard to find support because the disease is so embarrassing.  I am totally on my own on this.  The problem isn't so severe that it makes me suicidal but it's a bummer.  I hope somebody famous comes out with having it so it'll be easier to talk about.

Shop around for better Insurance before they change the preexisting conditions law.

Your doc should work with the insurance company to get you covered.  If you have a 30 degree or larger curve and they put it through the insurance to treat peyronies (not ED), I understand you should not be denied.  If so, appeal.  You've found the right place for support-keep us posted.
