Title: Suspect I may have peyronies
Post by: Sinep on May 29, 2017, 11:19:03 AM
Hi, i apologize for my username, but try to keep my anonymity and feel that gives me the security to have a frank and open discussion.
I am 52 years old, overall healthy, take Zoloft for depression, have a slightly elevated bleeding and bruising tendency, could be increased with the antidepressants I have taken over the last 15 years.
I noticed at the beginning of this weekend that my erection has become twisted with a very clear indentation on the lower right side of the shaft, on the flaccid penis I am able to feel a rough patch in the area where I have the indentation and constricture during erection. The skin above the patch moves freely, there are no ulcers, bleeding, bruising or anything like that. Pain is low to moderate 2-3. I do not recall any distinct injury to my penis, but recall possible slight buckling injuries in the past after trying to perform past reaching my climax.
My initial fear when I noticed the indentation (this was during self stimulation) that "I broke something", seems real silly, but after researching the subject I came to a quick realization, this is likely Peyronie's disease. I think I have located a urologist and will contact him tomorrow (it's Memorial Day) to see him. I found him through the xiaflex webpage and his credentials check out..I am good talking with him and getting help, maybe even better since he is 4 hours away.
My trouble is communicating with my wife and even telling her for fear of rejection, etc...our intimate life has decreased over the past years and I think we need some help in general, but this seems to make it just more complicated....I will see.
I appreciate this site very much. The internet are a phenomenal way to connect on this and network without "fear" or less fear at least.

Welcome sinep to our club, we all wish we didn't have to be here, but hey welcome  :)

I think you are on the first step to resolving this by reading this forum, and your speedy intention to see an urologist. I would leave talking to your wife for now until that consultation with your urologist has taken place.

Don't get into the mindset that you have done this to yourself, that would be self defeating, try and stay positive, anti-depressants in my opinion are over prescribed, and an easier  (cheaper) decision for longer term therapies, I was on Prozac, and hated it.
