Hello Everyone, thank you for supporting us in this difficult journey. I was just diagnosed over video. I am 53 and live in Austin Texas and my Urologist is 70 and was not very helpful and prescribed topical Verapamil. I have much pain during erections and intercourse for last 60 days and have little curvature at this time but I have two areas of scar tissue. Here are my questions:

1. I read the "survivors guide". It seems that it was last updated in 2013. That concerns me that there has been no new thinking on this area since then. Please advise if there is updated info?

2. I am seeking a bast practice "early intervention" protocol. Can you advise?

3. If I have pain and two areas of scar tissue - am I 100% sure to get curvature and size reduction? 50% likely? 10% likely? Not sure how many people progress to what stage. Can you advise?

Thank you SOOOOO much!

Sober but hopeful, Chris

Welcome to the forum Chris. I am sorry that you have been diagnosed but you have found a great place for support.

In regards to early intervention here are my recommendations:

Step 1:
CoQ10 300 mg daily split up (100mg in morning and 200mg before bed)
L-Citrulline 2g daily split up (1g in morning and 1g before bed)
Quercetin w/ bromelain  (reduces scar tissue in the body) 500mg daily
I like to take 500 mg of ginger before bed in combo with Citrulline (it boosts effects)
Acetyl-L Carnitine 2g daily split up as well if you wish

Step 2:
To get the inflammation in your body down you're going to need to reduce all sugars and carbs
Get your diet under control and you will help your penis heal
The supplements will make you have night time erections (these are key)
You need to get regular blood flow into your penis and NTEs are key to healing.
Also, get plenty of antioxidants in your diet. If you can't get pentox, drink a couple cups of coffee per day.

Step 3:
Find a Peyronies specialist, travel if you need to. I know times are weird. But make it happen.
Get a prescription for low dose cialis
Get a prescription for pentox (pentox will lower your immune system response. Beware of COVID)

These steps are not meant to me necessarily in that order. Definitely get the supplements as soon as possible. However make sure to set up your new urologist appointment right away. You will be fine but time is key here. See how the supplements make you feel, if you feel okay, take them for 3 months. Then cycle off. You may repeat later but make sure to give your kidneys time to relax in between. Once you get cialis and pentox (if you can) then you should maintain a low inflammatory diet. Forever. This will help your erection pain.

It's important to learn about this condition, but don't spend too much time digging on the forum or the internet for answers. You will give yourself too much anxiety. Everyone's situation seems to be slightly different but the treatment is generally the same. Try not to focus too much on investigating your penis. It's important not to masturbate too much, if you do, use lube.

Keep sex to once a week if possible. You don't need to cause further injury. Listen to your body.
Keep your head up brother. You WILL be okay.

Holistic

Acetyl L carnitine  and L-argenin will help too.

The ACL will help with inflammation and a little prevention. the Argn will help with blood flow and plaque slowing.

Also, there is a lot of talk in the DMSO conversation under alternative treatments. im currently reading up on it. it is a topical application but you should research and read up on it before using to avoid any injury. Soon as I get enough info for proper handling, I will use it myself too.

Ive been taking supplements for a while now. they help for sure but may not be enough based on your injury. Unfortunately the behavior of Peyronies Disease isnt so linear. I had questions myself about a standard rate of progression but there isnt one. it is all individual based. however if you cruise the forum, youll find areas of help. The DMSO chat seems to theoretically be a promising method as someone already has had resolution of his Peyronies Disease.

Diet is important as well as mindset.
32 yo. Unknown cause. 1st plaque proximal left base near pelvis 9/19. Expanded and shrunk after 8 mo by 50% (still working on it). Minor bend but malleable. 2nd small plaque 5/20 superficial distal right just under tip. Currently growing. No bend.

Hi Chris the survival guide is still relatively up to date.  You're in the early acute stage where things could worsen.  To avoid that I'd advise low dose nightly generic cialis (2.5-5mg) and traction or VED to prevent worsening and promote any plaque to convert to healthy tissue.  If you can get pentox prescribed all the better, if not substitute coQ10.  Anti inflammatory supplements and diets may help the other treatments be more effective.  There are some stats on progression from the acute stage, most worsen, some stabilize and only a few get better (you might search the forum for the study).  DMSO doesn't have any studies behind it, but a few hear have found it helpful for their dents (as I understand).  You can follow them on the forum just be very careful and knowledgeable because it can burn skin and transport unhealthy chemicals into the penis.
