Hello Gents. Have been a frequent visitor on this forum for several years but first time posting. Have learned a lot by reading the experiences and opinions of others. Thankfully have an understanding wife of almost 40 yrs but we have both been exasperated beyond belief dealing with Peyronies Disease and ED. Life can be cruel, right?!? Not ready to throw in the towel, have thought for a long time that I might someday become an implant candidate. Visits to 3 urologists in my town, all of whom have been prior aquaintences and are great guys, has sadly not resulted in any sort of lasting improvement or resolution of my approx 60-70* leftward bend and hourglass dent about 1" from the base along with ~ 1.5" shortening. To that end, and now retired with kids grown and gone, have had plenty of time to read many of the numerous implant owners journals on this site. Though in some ways it is a scary endeavor, I must admit to being reassured by the many positive experiences I've read about from those of you who are kind and brave enought to share your implant experiences. Will continue to read everything I can get my hands on here and anywhere else that I can find in the way of useful, factual info (knowledge is power, right?) as I continue my journey. Just wanted to take a minute to finally post and to thank Hawk and all of the rest of you for shining your light on this problem and providing hope for others like me. It is much appreciated! I probably had the most recent implant on this forum and have logged my whole experience in my journal. I also had a hourglass deformity. I was pretty detailed throughout my recovery if you want to take a look. But, best decision I could have made. Very happy with the outcome.
Just read your entire series of posts, very informative and reassuring. If I ultimately go the implant route, I'm certain I will be traveling as there is no one anyone near me that is a highly regarded and recommended high volume implant specialist. Just curious how you decided on Dr. Hakky as it appears from your posts that he is not in your immediate geographic area. Thanks in advance for reply and info when you have time.
Mostly just based on word of mouth from those around this forum and FT. Hakky is probably one of the top 3 in the world, but there are other high implant surgeons who are good im sure.

Yes, it's sad what men have to go through.
I had many doctor friends when I lived in Maryland, but none seemed to know a urologist that was very good at handling Peyronie's disease. I visited 4 urologists before I found a urology group, and that was in Virginia, that was man-sensitive and trained in Peyronie's disease.
And even that group that was all about men's health, failed to mention an implant.
It was this site and my chats with Hawk that provided me with information on implants. I guess that's been 5 years now since I got my implant.
Oh the suffering physically and psychologically that I went through was unbearable at times.
I had only wished I had known about implants prior to my Nesbit and the injections into my penis.
The urologist that did the Nesbit lied about the shortening and narrowing of my penis after the surgery. I should have sued him, as I had emails from him telling me the opposite, but I was too devastated to do it.
Needless to say, the implant was a blessing. So far, with each passing year, sex has gotten better and better. The passing of time has made sex so much more enjoyable for me and my spouse.
I have to be honest, it took me almost a year to really feel like my new penis was the best thing I had experienced in a long time. Sex had been so iffy for the longest time, the implant eventually got rid of all the iffy events of sex.
Of course there is nothing like a natural penis, but an implanted penis is the closest thing to it...and in some ways it is superior.
I tried so many things prior to the implant with so many hopes, but so many disappointment's, I was truly broken by the time I received my implant.... Which then took a while to heal from within.

Stepone...thanks for the reply and remarks. I had read your journal, along with many others, a good while ago. If I recall correctly, you had quite a drawn out recovery but glad that you can view it with such positivity now that it is all behind you. It is so reassuring to hear from forum friends like you.
