Title: Peyronie's at 55
Post by: Dave.Z on April 24, 2017, 09:00:30 PM
Hi, my name is Dave, and I'm from the East Midlands in England, and I'm 55 years old. I saw a urologist in February, and was diagnosed with Peyronie's desease. He told me there wasn't any treatment he could give me, and there was no psychological support from him either. Don't know what to do now, so any advice would be very much appreciated.

Dave;

First thing, if possible, find another Urologist. This one's a waste of space. So called 'medical professionals', like him, boil my piss!

If you're still in the active phase?  Is there any pain on gaining an erection, etc?  Read the sections on traction and VED. Also, in oral remedies consider trying Citrulline Malate, ALC, Ubiquinol. If you can get a prescription elsewhere, Pentox and low dose Cialis. Maintaining healthy blood flow to the penis is crucial.

In the meantime read all you can on this forum. It will give you an education as to what you're dealing with and how to fight back.

hey dave;
I had the same with my first doctor, I was 28 yrs old when it started, oral treatment helped me a lot and I have no problem now (sure it is not same as pre-Peyronie's) all of us should learn to live with Peyronie's.
find a Peyronie's expert, not a regular urologist.
if your plaque is not classified, there is tons of thing could help you and even it is classified surgery always is an option.

I am living with this more than 5 years. feel free to write me if you have any question.
best regards.

Dave.Z,
Welcome.....  I used to travel to Derby quite often, but that was many years ago now.

Try this for some background information.

Thank you all for your replies and advice. Sorry, but I couldn't work out how to reply to each individual response, is that possible? MeMo mention "classified Plaque", what is that? Jonbinspain mentioned "the active phase", I don't know what that is either, sorry. Looks like I need to do a lot of reading. LWillisjr mentioned "Derby", I have relatives there  :)
I had pain first, then the bend Later, upwards, towards the end. No pain now. Can anyone recommend a good UK Peyronies specialist? Thank you.

When Peyronies first starts it can worsen over a period of time. This is called the active phase. Once it stabilizes it is no longer active.  Meaning it is not getting any worse at the point. The curve is cause by plaque or scar tissue that does not expand like it used to. Some plaques will harden and "calcify". Certain doctors feel once a plaque has calcified that the only way to fix it is through surgery to remove it. Hope this helps

I can recommend Dr Kuehhas in London (as recommended by others on this forum). I saw him last week and found him to be very nice. The care given by Dr Kuehhas and his patient coordinators has been superb. I was very lucky to learn that I don't have Peyronie's Disease but I am confident that whatever issue you have, he will diagnose it correctly and provide the best treatment. They are in a great location (Queen Anne Street) for those coming from the midlands.
