Title: VED with Hard Flaccid
Post by: Toronto34 on April 07, 2017, 12:43:17 PM
Hi,

I PM'd Old Man already about this but wanted to see what other guys experience with this is.

I received a VED from Augusta Medical last week, but I am hesitant to try it out while I still have a hard flaccid. The hard flaccid gotten better, or less frequent, with abstinence from sex and pelvic floor exercises, but it still there at times. Doing anything to my flaccid penis when it's like that feels counter-intuitive.

My plan was to leave it be for another month and see where my flaccid before I begin with the VED. Have any of you used VED with a hard flaccid? Did it help or hurt?

Thanks

Yes, me. It helped me, didn't hurt, but I am using VED carefully.
But you should decide yourself what is good for you and what not :)

Thanks James. My hard flaccid is slowly getting better, but I am going to wait until May to try the VED. I find any sort of action down there can make things worse.

Update: I spoke to my Pelvic Floor Physio and she thought there was no issue starting VED with a hard flaccid and it should not cause issues with tight pelvic floor muscles or pelvic floor dysfunction (lots of her patients post-prostatectomy with prostate floor dysfunction use it). Getting more blood and oxygen to the region might also be good for hard flaccid, especially considering I also have Peyronies.

I found it interesting that she said sex/masturbation is not necessarily bad for pelvic floor dysfunction and the related hard flaccid. It's the kegeling and tightening of the muscles that occurs, especially around orgasm/ejaculation that is the problem. She recommended "practicing" on my own so I learn to stop doing that during sex. Good news for me because I've been abstaining with a new partner and would like to start having sex again!

Thanks for the info from your PPT Toronto34 - really interesting about the kegel tightening during orgasm/sex being the main issue.

For me training those muscles to be loose during sex/masturbation is entirely possible..up until the actual point of ejaculation. It seems to me that those muscle contractions are unnavoidable for orgasm as they are what causes the orgasm...

I'm wondering if anyone else has similar experience..

Hi Niagra,

Yes, I can say that after trying I am not sure how to avoid doing some sort of kegel while having an orgasm. I think the key is just to reduce or avoid it as much as possible, so don't tighten those muscles to hold off or enhance an orgasm. Also, my physio said that it's okay to do it a bit as your getting an erection or while getting those last bits of urine out when peeing. Sometimes you can't really avoid it (we have those muscles for a reason) but you shouldn't be kegeling if you don't have too.

She also checked with some other Pelvic Floor physios who all agreed the VED is okay with pelvic floor dysfunction as long as it's done carefully.

Interestingly there are some conficting views in this thread Have to 'flex' my penis? - Peyronies Society Forums (https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,7897.msg80216.html#msg80216)

Where Neo V and Paulo seem to experience that "it (ejaculating) should be a pushing out and loosening of the muscles, not a tensing the muscles"

However I keep reading that the purpose of the muscles is to force out ejaculation and (like Toronto) involuntary kegeling seems to be what causes the actual ejaculation for me.  I'd love to hear of others experiences regarding this as it seems to be the biggest contriubor to my on going pain.
