Hello bit of an update:
The surgery seemed to have gone well, my penis currently looks like... well it looks a lot worse than it currently feels.
I did have a few questions for those of you who have done surgery:
- did you apply ice / cold packs
- did you clean incisions with anything other than regular showering
- in general did you do anything that you feel had a big impact on recovery?
I will post some updates here as things heal up.
so far yeah pretty discomforting and mostly painful laying down. just hoping swelling has peaked
I'm 9 days into my recovery from plication surgery, and I will say make absolutely sure you do the 30 min on / 30 min off ice packing for the first 48 hours while you're awake and lay down as flat as you can get. It will help reduce the swelling which will be your biggest bane during the rest of your recovery. I did all that and I still had some bruising and swelling that sucks. Especially the meatus getting swollen up and causing urination to be a bit challenging/messy (but totally doable still).
leaning, You've asked specific questions that will help you following surgery. My reply is simply to provide encouragement to you. I've not had plication surgery, yet. Best to you: speedy recovery with tremendous result.
Did you get a post-op instruction from Denise?
No Ice packs, no additional oinmenents etc.
The Biggest impact on the recovery has the time.
Keep us updated!
No i did not get any specific instructions beyond don't bath or swim for two weeks and don't exercise / do streneous activity for 2 weeks. I feel quite annoyed with how little detail like no ice vs ice (i used a bit for one day because other users had recommended it). I think the whole surgery instructions was very uncoordinated between Gelman's office / secretary and me. This so far is the only aspect i've been disappointed with but I feel like they really did a bad job with providing more detailed instructions.
What else do you want? ;D
You are healthy and all you need for now is the time. The best you can do is doing nothing!
Ice packs don't play any role in your healing proccess. That is why they don't recommend it.
They don't advice you any stuff like oinments because the oinments can disturb suture line healing and make sutures dissapering too fast. I am not a pro in English but I hope you understand what I mean.
Update:
I had one little area of the incision that has slightly bled (we're talking like one or two drops) and contacted Gelman, he prescribed antibiotics and when I saw him yesterday for post-op appointment he said I should be good.
So far area around the incision (below head) is still swollen, but it has improved along with some bruising.
I've had quite a few erections, I'm always quick to try to get them to go away and not become full 100% erections you'd have sex with. I'd say there is only a bit of discomfort and occasional very light pain, much less than I would have expected. They are also looking nice and straight, which was the goal!
Could you tell me your preop and post op length measurements and how many degrees did he correct ?
Have they advised you to do any very light stretching? Normally 2 weeks post op you would expect to do this. I was advised after a week of incision and grafting to do very light stretching and this worked well for me. Also bathe your penis in salted water as this will help heal the stitches.
leaning,
thank you very much for sharing you July 3 update. Sounds like things are healing okay and patience is necessary. Wishing you the continued best success.
I can stop rolling my eyes every time I see someone ask about stretching post Plication surgery...
Really?!!... they just fixed your bent Dick and you want to mess with it. Maybe pull out the internal stitches that make it straight.
I'm 14 months post 16 dot Plication... that's the LAST damn thing I would EVER consider. Once it's fixed... stop playing with it; let your partner play with it.
Im 3 weeks post the same operation, and my surgeon explicitly told me to stop traction after surgery. He joked and said to send it back to Landon (the inventor of it that he is personal friends with), lol.
leaningtowerofpisa How is your recovery going? What did Gelman tell you about traction?
bustedclub, you shared you've recently had plication surgery. Hoping recovery is going very well for you.
Thank you, so far so good. I'm keeping my thread updated with progress for future sufferers to learn or be able to commiserate to.
Bustedchubb, Bro, Will the surgery remove classic symptoms? I mean not the curvature, as I don't have a curvature, but my member becomes hard in a calm/relax state like a stone without reason and it destroys my mind almost every day 24/7 as I can not normally sitting nor walking sometimes. I don't want to misinform people here, because I don't know the name of this symptom nor how it's called, maybe it is "hardflaccid" like most forum members mention this "word" here sometimes. I really don't know, but I know that it destroys my mind almost every day. So, will the surgery remove it? Thanks in advance. Sincerely.
Honestly, I cant say for sure what it has done for me other than straightening out the curve. I am still healing up but will be providing my full analysis when I am mostly to fully recovered.
How are you leaningtowerofpisa ? :)
Hopeful bustedclubb recovery continues to go very well
Yeah, so far so good. Im leaving my junk offline just yet to allow healing, but my erectile pain is nearly gone and swelling is mostly around the dorsal / mesial side stitch line that hasn't fully healed yet. Some places have fully fused together again. All bruising is gone at this point and glans swelling is totally resolved. As stated before, I'm nearly perfectly straight at this point.

That is interesting.
Doctor Gelman doesn't recommend traction too.
Maybe 3 weeks is too early, AeroT had done traction following his surgery with Gelman, the doctors are probably afraid that their patient exerts a much too high traction
bustedclubb, thank you for the brief update. It let's forum members, including me, how things are going for you. It sounds good!
leaningtowerofpisa any update ? How is your recovery going?
@Wilson
After reading a bunch of your posts, I don't think you have Peyronie's disease. I believe you have injury induced hard flaccid. You don't have any curvature issues, and I find that quite strange.
