Hi There,
I'm based in the UK.
I've been advised to take a PDE5 inhibitor to help encourage blood flow into the penis.
I've been prescribed Sildenafil (Viagra). It seems like Tadalafil (Cialis) is more commonly prescribed in the US.
On the box I've been informed to 'use as directed'.
I haven't been told how frequently I should take these tablets? Do I just use if/when having sex with my wife or do I take on a regular basis like usual medication?
I've sent and email to my Peyronies consultant but I've not received an answer (its no easy communicating with him).
Thanks
Jamie
Usually it's 5 mg tadafil daily use
Yup. 5mg of tadalafil at bedtime. I don't know about the Viagra though? Tadalafil is considered generic Cialis. This stays in your system longer.
I would also second the Cialis 5mg opinion. Much better than having it on demand. I use it and i only have very good things to say about it.
Take a look at this: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/sildenafil-oral-route/proper-use/drg-20066989
Your best bet is to get in touch with your doctor and get a a dosage. Most likely you can break whatever pill you have in half. Viagra doesn't last as long in the system, it's used for more immediate usage for sex. Also, they usually prescribe a month's worth of pills, so the number of pills you have probably is a month long prescription.
With PDE5, you can feel stuffy, maybe some tightness in your back in the morning, increased heart rate/blood pressure. It's very mild, but just be aware :)
I take 2.5mg of tadalafil daily at 9 pm.
