Title: Vacuum pumping pre and post implant
Post by: Ian C on May 04, 2021, 02:56:10 AM
Hi folks.

I have searched, honest.

My implant surgery is one week from today, and I'm not sure if\when I should stop using the vacuum pump.

I've read people did it up to the night before, and seam to remember someone saying two weeks before (too late for that one).

Stupid question now, does pumping stop after the implant?

Ian.

I used the VED up until at least 12 hours prior to surgery maybe even the morning of surgery. I don’t remember BUT I was gentle in the last 72 hours to make sure I caused no minor abrasions etc.

I have only used a VED a few times since implant as an expeirment.  I would definitely not use it for at leas 6 weeks after implant because of healing.  As long as you are happy with your size and are making gains from cycling I see little point in post implant VED. The

Ian, what are the details of your surgery. Who is your surgeon? Are you planning on sharing a detailed journal to help others?

Hi.

I'll be getting a new type of implant, and I'm very sorry i can't remember the name of it. I'll mention it in my "blog" which I'll start now.

Dr Fraser in Glasgow is my surgeon.
