Title: urologist is not helpful
Post by: seaturtle on March 15, 2021, 07:01:13 AM
Good morning,

last week i saw an andrologist for my peyronies disease(medium to mild curve to left with significant indentation). he said he would not do surgery as the only surgery that could resovle the very bothersome indentation is grafting procedure. so now i got recommended to wait and see approach and a ved. i asked him to do ultra sound because i have significant erectile dysfunction and he did a flacid US and said there was good blood flow.

i am very much dissatisfied with his approach and think he is being utterly superficial and is neglecting me. my Erectile Dysfunction is not due to a lack of blood inflow (on the diagnosis paper he is writing about arterial inflow) but rather when i get erect, it is never a hard erection and it fades literally within 10 seconds and without manual stimulation it fades even quicker. i do believe strongly that i have a venous leak and upon asking he said

"if you had good erections before then, then i would put the chance for organic ED at maybe around 20% and 80% psychological".

what?!

how does he even come up with these numbers? and what i am supposed to do with them? when someone tells you 20% chance you will need a penile implant then this is not satisfying. i should come back see him at the end of 2021.  this guy surely never had Erectile Dysfunction otherwise he would understand the damage done by such a statement?

so what i want to find out is, are there tests that can tell you with very high certainty whether you have a venous leak of other types of organic Erectile Dysfunction? i drove 4 hours to see this guy and he only did examine me after pressing him real hard and i find his examination careless and neglective and his overall approach(no surgery, ved if that does not work i should "learn how to live with it" what the hell?)

i also have persistent chronic pain mostly in flaccid and he said this could not be from peyronies because my accute phase started 18 months ago an i should be pain free by now. yeah but i am not?

what is my course of action? see a different urologist and ask for a doppler ultra sound with injection? is that the way to go?

Hello seaturtle,

to help you, we need more information about your person, constitution and story of your Peyronies Disease and Erectile Dysfunction.

How can you be sure, you have Erectile Dysfunction? Do you experience any erections (nightly, with porn, stimulating yourself...)?
Psychological reasons are possible, because Peyronies Disease can damage mental health.

Welcome to the forum SeaTurtle.

I would share your outrage.  Had he induced an erection, he would have seen if there was venous leakage on the Doppler Ultra Sound because he would have seen a large outflow of blood and in what area.

I want to also thank you for filling in your signature line.  One of the most important factors (your age) is missing, however.  Whether you are in a relationship is also important.

Since you knew to fill in your signature line, I could guess that you have read our Peyronies Disease Survival Guide, but it is so critical that what to make sure you study it, so here is the link.

I am interested in exactly what "Tried VED without success means."  Also, if you read the survival guide, what, if anything, are you trying?

I'd look into Hard Flaccid if I were you.  Start doing exercises (yoga) that will stretch and relax your pelvic floor.  Not only does it interfere with the urethra, but blood transport and possible nerve signaling...all due to over-flexed pelvic floor muscles (PFD Pelvic Floor Dysfunction).  If there is little known about Peyronie's then there is practically nothing known about Hard Flaccid.  With all the inactivity and sitting around that COVID has inspired it's no wonder these muscles are overburdened.
