Title: Ved efficancy
Post by: Dressa on March 11, 2020, 04:43:15 PM
Hi!

Sufferer since three years back. Tries ved on and off. Now I Read this...

https://www.peyroniesassociation.org/knowledge-base/why-is-the-ved-not-recognized-by-most-urologists-as-being-a-viable-treatment-for-Peyronies Disease/

Is traction better?

Peace!

Andreas

Your link doesn't seem to work. But for me personally VED hasn't worked as somehow I always end up doing more damage even if I pump very lightly. I injured myself from jelqing and using pumps in the past so I may react very differently to it compared to other peyronies sufferers though.

Many have had success w VED, however many more studies on the efficacy of traction.

That appears to be nothing more than one man's post on a basically defunct forum.  Do you know who posted it and the date?  It fails to reference small clinical studies to the contrary.  It wrongly suggests the rate of spontaneous is anywhere near high enough to account for improvement reported.  It is also a website that is sponsored by those that have a huge vested interest in Xiaflex so I would take that into consideration when weighing the evidence.  That forum is essentially dead for a reason.

Who is the author to this? Is it based on a medical study under strict conditions? Well No. It's just an opinion. There are plenty of genuine studies showing VED. Vacuum therapy and traction therapy do work. I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm saying it's weak. I prefer to go with true scientific studies. My advice to anyone. Go where the evidence is..

Stretching tissue, generally stretching any material, with the right intensity and duration will result in a change of the tissue.

Simple logic anyone can observe. No need for a study or anything to get there. The guy who wrote the opinion is simply dumb.

this may be really worth a read: https://www.pumptoys.com/lib/lib2b.htm , although it's about 'ball' pumping it has good tips on a number of ved risks .  quite eye opening. including how to make a "combo" ved from a drinks dispenser for a few $! he does seem to be saying permanent penis enlargements are uncommon, but that they do occur.

Pameslaugh: VED creates a vacuum-induced erection, while an ordinary erection is the body's natural way of creating an erection.

Who ever wrote this is a massive idiot. At this point I'm. Convinced that some doctors don't want conservative treatment to work so they cna butcher you with surgery. Ved works in animal studies, it does cause the release of enzymes that eat scar tissue but no, that cnat be, it needs to be bc they are spontaneous healers. Think about the midn games these people go through. I wish them the absolute worst for their future

That particular link is dead, but I found quite a bit of interesting info elsewhere on that site by searching for non-surgical therapies. Good info on pentox and viagra together not being contraindicated.
