Title: Do scars, wasting and deformity ever disappear completely?
Post by: markdubby on July 09, 2021, 05:09:24 AM
Hi all

Question for the veterans: do scars, wasting and indentation ever disappear completely with the physical treatment methods (VED + traction)?

i can definitely feel morphological changes to the first plaques i discovered so am wondering, do they ever completely disappear? I guess if they do, that should eventually get rid of indentations and narrowing along the shaft as the tissue regains its original state.

thanks!

I don't think there's a general answer to your question!

Can scars, wasting, and indentation disappear completely with traction/VED? Yes!
Can scars, wasting, and indentation not disappear completely with traction/VED? Yes!
Can scars, wasting, and indentation improve somewhat with traction/VED? Yes!

Everyone's situation is different. Nobody (not even the doctors) can predict what the result of your treatment will be. Some will unfortunately do traction/VED for months and still get worse. Some will do traction/VED and nearly go back to straight (as we've seen from Nolte94's post recently).

Generally speaking, I don't think most people are as concerned with the actual scar tissue (plaque) vs. the deformity it causes. Sometimes you can see improvement in the deformity but the scar still feels palpable. We also know that the plaque volume and shape can change over time, and that's just sometimes the natural progression of the disease.

The focus should certainly be on seeing improvement in the actual deformity and traction/VED are known to help significantly as they did for you already :)

For the first 16 months after my injury, I got an indentation/little deviation to the left and hinge when semi-hard. After 16 months I decided to stretch the penis to the max without causing pain, guess what, my penis got thinner,  weaker and more unstable. Be careful with traction/VED

a bit of an update here... i think traction is successfully restoring my penis to normal. sadly i had another plaque appear at the bottom of my penis a few months ago, but the first 2 plaques (especially the first onei had since february) is dissolving. i can barely feel them, and the indentation and wasting are slowly but steadily decreasing

there is hope!!
