Title: Tension rods during counterbend? Restorex
Post by: Ineedtosleep on March 13, 2022, 11:40:06 PM
Hi guys,

Do you activate the tension rods when applying counterbending?

I currently max out the standard rods with straight traction and need to move up to the extension rods.

However, I'm only able to achieve positions 3 & 4 during counterbending when I'm at the lowest level of the rods. I just wanted to confirm whether or not to activate tension rods when doing counterbending, or if we're just trying to achieve positions 3 & 4 as demonstrated in the restorex video (where they don't apply tension).

If you do apply tension, do you try and match the same degree of tension that you use during straight traction?

Thanks,

If you fail to use the tension Springs I can't see any purpose of using RestoreX

definitely do not match the amount of traction you use for straight traction to counter-bending!!!

start slow, release the traction with no clicks - go 15m... Counterbending is a bit more risky than straight bending so take it easy!! and yes you do need traction but you will need to work up to the higher levels very slowly or risk injury!

I use the longer rods and counter bend to 90 degrees. I start at 2 clicks with tension then after 10 minutes add another 2 clicks and keep it there until 30 minutes has passed. It gives quite a good stretch. You must make sure the skin is loose around the base so you are getting an internal stretch.

Mike - You don't unclamp for 30m ? Is this safe?

I only clamp for a total of 30 minutes.  Then I release it. So I do a total of 30 minutes with a 90 degree bend only. I use the PMP for straight traction only.
