Title: Sensitivity Issues
Post by: MacMathuna on February 17, 2020, 10:17:32 AM
Help me!

So my plaques are mostly located just behind the glans on either side and on the underside of my penis. When I have an erection my penis is pretty insensitive all the way from my glans to maybe 2/3rds of the way down the shaft of my penis.

The skin is still sensitive... like it's not totally numb... I can feel touch on my penis, but it just doesn't feel sexually stimulating at all.
When girls go down on me it it just feels like if they were sucking on any other part of my body...
Masturbating stressful and almost totally unenjoyable.

I can still achieve orgasm, and I can still enjoy penetrative sex because it's stimulating the whole penis at once (but only if I'm able to achieve full penetration. I was with a girl whose p~$$% was shorter than my dick and it didn't do anything for me), and I have to be really in the mood. It's also impossible to enjoy penetrative sex with a condom on.

All the urologists have said that any sensitivity issues will resolve themselves with time, but it's not like the surface of the skin is insensitive... touch just doesn't feel sexual at all. It feels more like the inside of my penis is insensitive. It feels like the plaques are blocking stimulation (which isn't something that would resolve itself as long as long the plaques persist).

Does anyone have any experience with this... What can I do?

It's been six months since symptoms appeared. I'm 27.

Also, my penis seems to retain heat less well. If I go for a run on a cold day if feels colder, longer.
It often feels colder to the touch than the rest of my body. I assume this is a problem of blood flow.

What treatment are you pursuing if the doc has identified plaque?

Hmm?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "tic"?

I diagnosed the plaque myself via palpation. Of the urologists I've seen, some have been able to identify the plaque and others have not.

I'm currently on some supplements... L-Arginine, COQ10, Acetyl L-Carnitine, & Serrapeptase.
I haven't been able to get a prescription for Pentox from a doctor yet, but I'm visiting a new Uro next week and am going to insist on getting a prescription.
I'm doing daily heat with a rice sock and applying castor oil to the plaques.

Moving forward, I'm hoping to get on a low dose of daily cialis and get ahold of a VED as suggested by the survival guide. I'm hoping that if I can soften the plaques some of this sensation will return?

Sorry, meant doc.  Adding those treatment modalities should help!

Ok. I just wondered if there's anything I should try specifically for the lack of sensitivity.

Right now just over half my penis is more or less insensitive. When I masturbate I have to focus mostly on the first few inches of my penis form the base, where I haven't lost sensitivity. Stimulating around the glans and upper shaft doesn't do much of anything unless I'm incredibly aroused or already close to orgasm.

It seems like a lot of guys aren't having this issue? They might have a worse bend but can masturbate somewhat easily? I haven't ejaculated since monday (from penetrative sex). I tried to masturbate today, and could achieve an erection easily, but then I just couldn't get it to go anywhere because there just wasn't enough sensation. I typically only try to masturbate less than once a week, and very rarely is it pleasurable, even if I am able to achieve orgasm.

Penile numbness is very common and related to pre-diabetes or glucose intolerance / toxicity. I restored my numbness by avoiding all glucose. My father with Peyronie's also has a numb penis. Tests are unlikely to show that you have pre-diabetes, but neuropathy of the penis is primarily caused by this and alcohol.

Some of us have burning hands and feet from this as well. Fortunately mine is basically gone.

Thanks for your response, NeoV.

Are you saying that the lack of sensation IS NOT caused by plaques?

It does seem to only be a problem where I've got plaques, and I've never experienced a lack of sensation before. I noticed it immediately after my injury and it has persisted since my injury. I'm fairly certain that it is directly related to my peyronie's.

I'll look into the things you suggested.
Is there any other way to confirm that I have pre-diabetes or glucose intolerance/ toxicity?

Mac

I would suggest you go to a different urologist that specializes in Peyronies Disease. They are hard to find, but you need to fine one. I called quite a few urologists and met quite a few until I discovered NOT ALL UROLOGISTS know ANYTHING ABOUT PEYRONIES DISEASE.
You are young and they may not be taking you seriously or they may just be untrained urologists.
I say make a bunch of calls and ask the various urologists secretarys if the doctor treats Peyronies Disease, if they say, let me check, hang up and call another.
And before you let anyone perform surgery, check back with this website as there are many more knowledgeable people that can at least guide you and give you their thoughts.
I repeat this over and over again, but I had 3 urologists that were clueless to Peyronies Disease.
I think if you say which area and town you live near, someone on here will be able to recommend a good urologist.
If it's something like diabetes, a regular physician should be able to tell you that.
But I would still go to a qualified urologist that treats Peyronies Disease and be bold when you talk to him.

Thanks, Stepone.

I have been to a urologist who specializes in Peyronie's disease, but he really didn't have anything to offer me in terms of conservative treatments. He offered a plication, which doesn't solve my issues at all.

I'm looking around, but its all pretty demoralizing, and I've found it really hard to advocate for myself with doctors.
Maybe I will make a post asking for Docs in cincinnati.

I'm going to try to make an appt with Dr. Robert Bahnson in Columbus, because I saw someone recommend him on the forums. I'll have to go out of pocket though.

Gah!
It seems Dr. Bahnson is no longer in practice!

I had seen 4 urologists at the urology group in Cincinnati. I was following up about a prior auth for a prescription for sildenafil (I'm on medicaid), and one of the uros called me back angrily, complaining that I'm running around seeing all these different doctors blah blah blah. Anyway, I don't feel comfortable going back to the urology group, plus I didn't have any luck with them anyway. Unfortunately, it seems a lot of the other urologists in cincinnati are at uro departments at bigger hospitals, and a lot of those aren't taking non-emergency patients because of covid19.

I scheduled an appointment with a Dr. Montague in May.
He is listed on the forum's list of doctors. Hoping to get a prescription for pentox and a daily PDE5i, but we'll see.
The secretary says that he does specialize in Peyronie's.
