Title: Can non calcified plaques be seen?
Post by: orriw on April 17, 2024, 06:01:18 AM
I just read (https://www.dcurology.net/common-problems/peyronies-disease.php) that only about 20% of all plaques will become calcified. What is with the rest? Can they be detected by an ultrasound or needs something else?

The plaques that are calcified show up on an ultrasound as distinct white objects. Those that are not calcified are just bits of scar tissue. Dr's have a difficult time interpreting these bits and pieces sometimes as they can hide in the ultrasound.
