Hello everyone
I have finally decided to go ahead with my plication surgery. The surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
I'm very nervous about the surgery but having one of the best surgeons in the country to do the plication gives me a lot of hope for good results.
Will keep updating on my progress. 🤞
Surgery went well.
Circumcision was not done as requested by me. Doctor said circumcision was not necessary, but swelling will take some time to go down without circumcision.
Surgery was carried out by spinal anaesthesia. I was conscious during the surgery.
Right now I'm in the bed at hospital hooked to a catheter. Will probably get discharged in a couple of days.
No pain right now. Penis wrapped in bandages
Hi,
I wish you a good recovery man ! The hardest part is hopefully behind you!
Thanks Alex. I'm looking forward to a hopefully less painful recovery.
I was encouraged to walk a lot today by the Dr. I experienced mild discomfort and lot of urination during the walk. I'm on painkillers and antibiotics currently. Will remove catheter tomorrow and be discharged from hospital.
Good recovering and keep us posted. It took a lot of courage to be awake for this - I could never do that.
Thanks Mikel. I felt the exact opposite. I was afraid of general anaesthesia and jumped and said ok when the Dr said "we will go with spinal , but if you are uncomfortable we can use general anaesthesia as well" . chose spinal since recovery is quicker, no nausea or any side effects and I can start drinking, eating quicker.
Summary of the surgery.
Penis was degloved , tourniquet was applied to root of the penis and artificial erection was induced.
Ventral curvature was noted and point of maximum curvature was identified.
Bucks fascia opened and tunica was exposed. Multiple plication on dorsal aspect by yachia technique with prolene 2-0 and ethilon 3-0.
Artificial correction was induced. Penis is straight and erect.
Bucks fascia was closed with 5-0 ethilon.
Mucosal edges approximated with penile skin by 5-0 monocryl continuous interlocking.
14 FR silicon catheter and sterile compression dressing.
Day 1 :
Catheter was finally removed today at 8am. Experienced some discomfort during removal of catheter but it was short lived. The more I relaxed the easier it was to pull out the catheter. Once it was done i was encouraged to walk around and try to urinate , i couldn't it was uncomfortable.
Chief surgeon came by before discharge to apply the crepe bandage, but unfortunately my penis had retracted too much to even apply the bandage. Doc asked me to get discharged and asked me to apply the bandage when it was possible. He taught me how to wrap it, i however doubt if I will be able to do it myself. He asked me to get in touch with him if I experienced any discomfort or pain or any doubts whatsoever.
Left the hospital at 11am and checked into a hotel close to the hospital to heal and recover for the next week until my follow up appointment with the surgeon.
Settled down in the hotel room wrapped up in nothing but a towel. I noticed some blood stains on the towel and freaked out. Contacted the doctor immediately, he said it is possible to bleed for a day or two due to catheter removal and told me to not pull back the skin of the penis. He just told me to leave it as is.
Finally i was able to urinate at 3pm with some discomfort and some blood. But the amount of blood decreased half way through my urination, i felt better.
Since I'm on blood thinner medication losing blood is a very bad situation for me.
Experienced few drops of bleeding at 5pm. Hopefully the bleeding will stop soon.
Penis seems to have retracted too much inside. No bandage yet. It's free and open. Doc said it's ok, once I start to get erection then I can apply the bandage. Fingers crossed 🤞
Day 2 :
Blood in urine had stopped. Did not have any erection last night and hence couldn't apply the bandage. Doc had asked me to apply an ointment to get help the foreskin healing. I could not do it since the foreskin was swollen. Headed to the doctor's clinic and he applied it and asked me to wait until the swelling goes down. Before I tried anything else.
He also said I can resume my normal work and travel. However I'm not sure about it.
Day 3 :
No erections last night, no bandage. Still on painkillers and antibiotics. Unable to pull back my foreskin to check on glans but right now it appears swollen. Not sure if my lack of erection is a good thing or a bad thing. Everyone here seems to have had some nocturnal erection, I'm not sure why it's not happening in my case. Very anxious 🤞
I had swelling at the glans for a few days after it retracted.
However, the swelling around my circumcision glans is still there and pretty big, even after 18 days. The doctor said it's to be expected, so just passing by my experience.
Regarding erections, I think I started having the first ones at either 3rd or 4th night.
Initially they were so uncomfortable and painful, that I was waking up every 60 minutes at night, and going straight to the bathroom and either washing my face with cold water to give myself a shock in order to drop the erection, or straight up put my penis under cold water (the glans only), again to shock it and drop the erection. Then go back to bed and repeat when the next erection wakes me up. So I was waking up every hour or so. This lasted for a couple of nights, before I was able to sustain a whole night without going to the bathroom
Hope you recover soon joavyer !
With circumcision swelling takes time to go down. U might feel comfortable wrapping it up with a gauze if your doctor allows it. Check with him. It helps me.
Day 4 :
I was bleeding a lot yesterday. I was terrified since my underwear was soaked in blood. Maybe it was because I have been without a bandage and there was abrasion. I went to the emergency and cleaned up the blood. Doc managed to get a bandage going for me and I'm using it till now. We managed to get a few tests to confirm the bleeding was not from the blood thinner. It wasn't. The sutures were also fine and the doc was able to pull the foreskin back and examine the glans without any pain and discomfort for me. He said that's a good sign. 😀
I'm unable to see the glans yet since I'm not circumcised and the foreskin is still swollen. Doc said the absorbable sutures will take sometime to dissolve. I hope I don't encounter anymore bleeding issues.
I'm glad the doctor said everything looked well. May I ask who your surgeon was ?
My surgeon was Dr Rupin Shah. He is from Mumbai, India.
Day 7:
Swelling has reduced on the foreskin, still a good week or two away for it to go down completely. Able to pull foreskin partially to reveal glans.
Had my erection today. Penis appears very short. I don't know if length loss was high. Penis seems retracted. Doc said give it some time to heal and wait for the 8 weeks timeline to get over. Penis is deviating to the left and down
2 weeks :
Foreskin continues to get better. Glans is swollen. Experiencing mild dull pain in the penis. Not much erections over the last couple of nights. I have resumed my work part time. Will try to post a few pics in the next couple of days
Just wanted to share updates.
Foreskin swelling is down
Glans swelling is down
Able to pull foreskin back by hand without much discomfort
Glans does not come out on its own during erection. Haven't tried to pull it out either. Still little scared about doing that
No pain. No bleeding. Mild itching and burning is there sometimes. But manageable
one month update :
Healing is coming along well. internal sutures for the foreskin have dissolved partially, i think it will take another 4-6 weeks to fall off completely.
measured my erect penis at 3.5 inches only. im a bit worried since i feel either i have lost so much length or i have not measured it correctly prior to the surgery or penis still in retraction
does anyone have any thoughts ? will try to post an erect pic soon
Internal sutures for foreskin are still healing. Had a mild bleeding episode 5days back.
Sharing pics
Guys i managed to find an old picture. Probably a decade old.
This was taken on my bed. I was lying on back and took the photo from the camera. The image has been rotated to a standing position. Can anyone help me with guessing the degree of curvature and possibly the size.
Thanks
crookedone, Looks like you're on a good road for recovery. Wishing maximum results for you. Thank you tremendously for sharing these intimate details and photos. This is very helpful to the obviously active, as well as the "quiet," forum members.
Well, clearly this is an excessive curve. I would estimate between 90 to 100 degree curve. Hoping your recovery goes well and will be interesting to compare a post surgical picture.
Hello everyone. I'm almost at the end of my 3 months timeline and got the green light to go ahead with masturbating. I'm currently single and hence the self help situation.
I found it quite difficult to pull back my foreskin. It was tight but not impossible to pull back. I felt like in hindsight a circumcision might have helped but i have no way of knowing for sure.
My penis was sore and painful for upto 6 hours post masturbating. I didn't need any painkiller but was constantly feeling dull pain. The penis also appears to curve to the left mildly.
Trying to my ved pump to help with blood flow and erection quality. My doctor has cleared me to use it long back but i held back due my bleeding concern from my use of blood thinners. Will try to post pics soon. If anyone has any input on using ved kindly do share, it will be helpful in my recovery.
Thanks
My loss of length seems to be very high. I'm straight but really disappointed with the length loss. I really do not know if any traction or ved would help at this point. Any inputs guys ? I have absolutely no motivation to continue to do this anymore.

You've come so far, don't give up hope yet!
I saw this quote - "Penile traction therapy has been shown to reduce postoperative loss of penile length" in this online article (from National Library of Medicine):
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9226694/
I haven't had the procedure done yet, but I plan to use traction therapy afterwards. It seems it does suggest a lengthy program, but I'm retired and have the time.
Again, don't lose your motivation!
hey headsup
thanks for your positive thoughts. it is a roller coaster of emotions but given the severe curvature i had i feel like i have made it out without much complications as so many have had. im very grateful for that. my surgeon did a very good job. i feel i did have a higher expectation regarding length post surgery. anyway there are a few things i can do to improve from here on and move fwd that i intend to get better and focus on that. i have done almost everything i can to better my situation im glad i took that chance to make myself straight. will keep updating on progress :)
thanks
Seems like you lost a bit of length. Personally I'm done with penis strechers. To much effort and time and unsertain results. But if you got the time and motivation perhaps give it a try. Have you tried to measure it?
Me and my wife have had great sex the 1.5 years of my peyronies, and she won't mind the shortening.
Guys i seem to be having a lateral curvature to the left probably around 30 degrees i guess. My initial curvature was down 80-90 % and mild to the left around 15%.
Got any pics? I know your curve was congenital but point of Plication regardless is to make one straight.
If you have ended up with 30 degree lateral curve the surgeon has done a terrible job imo.
Could you please tell me where did you get the surgery done?
If it is in India could you please pm me the details ?
Guys. At 5 months post surgery now. I feel like I need to shift my focus on other things. My concluding thoughts on my journey :
1. Avoid surgery if possible. If you are able to be intimate with your partner with the curvature , be happy with it
2. I would choose to have done the Circumcision during the surgery. I still think I will get it done sometime down the line, maybe a year later.
3. Length loss is psychologically challenging, but I remain positive. Currently my foreskin is a bit tight and I have some discomfort pulling it back completely. I feel like I will regain some confidence post circumcision.
4. Mild left curvature remains, probably around 10 degrees. My earlier conclusion of the curvature at 30 was incorrect. This doesn't bother me. Just sharing observation.
5. I would go through the process all over again. No regrets.
6. Anyone who wishes for a post surgery pic can pm me.
7. Big thank you and lots of gratitude to our forum members rock and alex. They were a huge source of positive support during my surgery and my recovery phase. I could not have done without you guys ! Thanks a ton guys.
Thanks to all forum members and mods. I would never have gotten the courage to go ahead with this life changing decision without the information and members sharing their journey on the forum.
Glad you are doing well and that you are pleased with the result.
Also thanks for the advice and info!
Hello everyone.
It's been little over a year since my surgery. I'm doing well. Gained a bit of length over time and don't feel like I need a circumcision anymore.
I do have some mild/dull pain, inflammation sometimes, but they seem to be less frequent now.
Penis is straight with mild left curvature.
Will be glad to support our members on their journey, kindly pm me for any information. Thanks everyone!
I guess you took down your post-plication pics? However, I am considering the surgery after eighteen months of Peyronie's with 40° dorsal curve, hinge and indentation AND 20 years of Erectile Dysfunction, formerly managed with Viagra, now only responsive to Trimix injections. I have been told that plication could mitigate my curve and possibly the hinge, but not the indentation, and to expect some loss of length. I refuse to do an implant for a variety of reasons, including my age (70s) and aversion to wearing a prosthesis on this most sensitive body part. So, to get to the point. Would you consider posting a current post-plication pic or DMing it to me? I want to be realistic about expectations before I commit to this surgery. At your discretion, thanks.
