First injections went fine. Hurt like hell and had extreme pain from random erections through the night but nothing terrible. Second round 2 days later went fine until I woke up at 1am with extreme pain at the site of injection and a large lump under the skin. By the time I went to the ER the lump spread around my entire shaft under the head. The ER gave me benadryl and steroids and sent me to my urologist when they opened. Now the swollen shaft is absolutely massive and has turned red/blue/black. Urologist doesn't know what happened as he has never seen this reaction before. I am absolutely terrified that this has done irreversible damage and will effect my ability to get an erection (had no problem before and my curve was only about 35 degree).
Now I'm waiting to see if it improves on daily prednisone and benedryl until I can see a specialist at USF. Has anyone experienced this? I'm so worried I feel sick. :'(

The swelling will go down and by now I am sure it has. I have been through 4 rounds and each time my penis is so swollen and bruised after each shot that it is very deformed looking. It will go down. Patience. The only thing I am concerned about after 4 rounds is that the pigment of my penis has remain splotchy and looking bruised in certain areas. The darker color change in my penis is not going away. It now looks like my new pigment is permanent. Not a major issue but still an unwanted surprise.

After my 1st round of Xiaflex, I have that same discoloration 5 weeks afterward. I wonder what it is, and how long it will last?

I have had 4 rounds of xiaflex and have discoloration as well. Most of my penis is a few shades darker now...it appears to be permanent.
Sorry it took me so long to respond. It's been a living hell these past 2 months. After 2 straight days of calling urologists I finally got one to see me that day. Long story short is that I had a half inch rupture and a small hole at the injection site. The surgeon repaired what he could with a skin graft. Now, I have permenant nerve damage, scar tissue which is causing a sharp curve and possibly ED(unsure how much of this is mental ). The rupture occurred in the middle of the night less than 12 hours after my second injection. I had gotten an erection while sleeping when the pain woke me up. I had never felt anything this painful in my life. At this point I'm looking at a second surgery to straighten out my penis (scar tissue is causing a bend and has shortened my erections by a little over an inch).

So sorry to hear about this. Who was the doctor that gave you the injections? Let's hope they figure out a way to get you back to normal.
