Title: 3 weeks after grafting and circumcision and still uncomfortable
Post by: SpudMuffin on January 23, 2020, 08:23:34 AM
I had surgery for 90 degree deformation and hourglass. The surgeon took out the peyronies-plaque and put in a synthetic graft. I am straight as an arrow. However, before surgery I was uncircumcised and unbeknownst to me, he circumcised me! Upon removal of the bandages 3 days after surgery I realized the circumcision and called him. He said it was necessary for the surgery and insertion of the graft.

The location of the stitches and circumcision is healed quite well and is not bothersome. However, the tip of my glans is very sensitive and is rubbing on my underwear. I have been stuffing socks in my underwear to limit the rubbing. But it is still very uncomfortable and at times painful.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what has been your resolution or final outcome?

The nerves seem aggravated from the stretching effect during surgery.  Give it time to heal.  However, that's malpractice by circumcising you without permission and if he states it was required-he just is not skilled enough to perform this surgery.  I'm so sorry for you.

I've been degloved three time now for different penis operations, each time I was warned that I may have to be circumcised. Think it depends on how much foreskin you have, I kept mine each time, but you should have been warned of the possibility of it happening.

He is very experienced... I think it might have been lost in the shuffle. He specializes in this for 20 years at the Mayo Clinic and does 40+ of these a year. I just want to know if anyone else has had this and what I should expect. I have read many that have numbness. I do not have any numbness but the tip is super sensitive. All the forskin is not gone but there is not enough left to cover the tip which is uncomfortable to say the least. I have tried going without padding but it is not possible at this point. I don't want to lose my sensitivity on the glans either. So...?

I bet it's because your glans has always been covered so is very sensitive.  With time your glans will become keratanized and have MUCH less sensation to the point where you will probably miss how sensitive it always was for sex.

Dang... that's not very encouraging...

Not sure why, but user TonySa is heavily exaggerating the whole thing.
Circumcised males are all over the world; while a circumcised penis indeed decreases sensitivity, it is still very common and not a depressing thing at all.
Let your penis heal and don't worry too much about the sensitivity; I'm sorry it hurts you but things will get better, trust me.
God bless you

GIR, no exaggerating here.  Read up on the impact of circumcision yourself.  But, no need to hijack this thread.  OP had circumcision without consent and is now super sensitive so I commented on those.  If you want to discuss circumcision, I'd suggest a new thread.

Sue the doctor. This monster should have never done this. Tell him to expect a lawsuit for a lot of money and to notify his malpractice carrier. I'm a lawyer by the way and this nonsense should have never happened.

This shouldn't have happened, but I know quite a few men who had adult circumcisions, and as much as I hate circumcision (believe me), the sensitivity will go away in a month or so, and you won't notice the difference in sexual pleasure. The loss sensitivity has never been proven and, even if there is some, sensitivity does NOT equal sexual pleasure. All the men I've known who had adult circs say, although they noticed a little less sensitivity in the glans after an adult circ,  sex feels exactly the same for them. Some even said it felt better and they had more sensitivity (go figure that out?) So, you will be fine. But you should let this monster of a doctor how mad you are at him and he's getting sued, big time over this.

Totally agree. Don't listen to this intactivist garbage about loss of sexual pleasure from a circ. That's never been proven.

Jan, that's just wrong.  It's simple anatomy and physiology.  Read up on the number of nerves that are severed and the impact of keratinization of the glans (all decrease sensitivity).  Medical facts are just that regardless of your reaction to them.

I know more about this and the sordid history of that body shaming movement/propaganda driven lobby calling itself intactivism than I ever want to know. They are saying the same lies and nonsense they did 30 years ago. There is no such thing as "simple anatomy". Human anatomy is incredibly complex and multifaceted. It can't be reduced to "lost nerve endings" and arguments "well it just stands to reason...."Ah. No it doesn't. That's the why the question. Nor is keratinization of the glans as you put it a simple matter of anatomy. Even if it's so, to a small degree, so what? LOL. No one is helped by their body shaming.

Sorry, IMO your statements sound like the extreme ones to me.  Regardless, let's not further hijack this string...perhaps start your own thread...

What's extreme about saying the extremists are extreme? Besides, you interjected their false claims. I didn't. I don't want to start a thread about intactivism. I'm here not here to hear their body shaming garbage. Heard it all 22 years ago. And nothing has changed.

Let's just agree to disagree...but we certainly agree there should be no body shaming and that circumcision should be an adults decision 👍🏽
