Title: Realistic number of Peyronies cases...
Post by: D1990m on May 05, 2020, 09:58:49 AM
I've been giving this a lot of thought after it happened to me. I'm not crazy sexually active. I date here and there and have sex once every couple weeks. (Sometimes even months) I came to a conclusion that the reported numbers of Peyronies cases are very conservative. There is no way that only 3 percent of people have endured an injury to their penis. Especially older guys pounding away their whole life. I'm only 30 and if it didn't happen now I'm nearly convinced it would of probably eventually happened years down the line. In my opinion it's probably around 20 to 30 percent of guys that actually do have some kind of scarring. Whether is from bending or other similar injuries. What are your guys thoughts

Also reminds me of a funny quote I read

I'd rather have a body full of scars and a head full of memories than a life full of regrets and perfect skin

I would say it's more like 10-12%, a lot of guys are ashamed (for no reason) hence the under reporting of Peyronie's  :(

Another factor at play is that many doctors are too incomoetent to diagnose peyronies, let alone treat it.

Yes, if they can still have intercourse they might not care and some have no sex and no pain and just carry on with life.
Also the shame factor. Just a stupid place to have an injury.
