Firstly, I have been searching for information on this topic and this looks to be a really great resource for people with this challenging disease, and I wish to congratulate every contributor and wish each one of you all the best.
I have been having problems of one sort or another with my penis for over a year now. The bulk of these symptoms, which essentially mimicked balanitis, have now been diagnosed as arising from lichens sceloris which I have been diagnosed steroid creams to control. There is also a degree of congenital phimosis which seems to be improving as well. Although these are not major problems, all of this has made me slightly more conscious of, and anxious about, my penis - and perhaps what follows is a reflection of this.
I first came across Peyronies while trying to figure out the above problems and was scared I had it - e.g. I had some very prominent veins that looked almost like 'cords' of scar tissue, but while being investigated I had an ultrasound which confirmed I did not have it. So far so good.
About 5 months ago I sustained a 'sexual injury' during intercourse where my erect penis was bent to the left - this hurt quite a lot (although there was no pop). It immediately seemed to swell up and felt 'sprained'. It looked like it had a swelling in the area it got bent on when flaccid. This lasted for about a week, after which the pain receded and the swelling disappeared. No problems with erections or deformities at all during this period.
About a month ago, after a heavy masturbation session, it was as though the swelling had returned, along with the pain, both of which receded after a few days. They were only ever present when flaccid and no pain or deformity, as far as I can judge, when erect - no erection problems either. I was examined by a doctor (not a urologist I don't think but a GUM specialist who definitely knew what he was looking for - scar tissue) just after it had receded (as part of the management of the LS) and I explained my concerns. He palpated the area thoroughly and said definitely no scar tissue/abnormalities.
Now after a fairly heavy sex session the same 'swelling' is back, along with mild pain which is more like an awareness. Again both only when flaccid and no pain or deformities when erect, or problems with erections.
Does this sound like it could be Peyronies disease and I should get examined again, perhaps another ultrasound? I am worried I might be in the inflammatory stage and could be taking some action - but I am quite anxious about stuff like this so perhaps I am worrying unnecessarily. Has anyone's disease followed a similar pattern? If it is not Peyronies does anyone know what it could be?

First, there is nothing about this ailment that ALWAYS happens the same. We all have different symptoms. And you cannot always find plaque. Your earlier troubles don't sound like Peyronies Disease at all. That you injured your penis during sex does. You need to find a real Uro and get a real diagnosis. Then take action. You can find all the ammo you need in the Read Me First topic. Don't give up. The earlier you attack this, the better your chances are for success.
I agree with Norm, and it is also possible that you could have just strained the suspensory ligaments that connect your penis to the pubic bone. Not every penile strain or pain is necessarily Peyronies Disease.

Just come back from abroad but will get this checked out by a proper doctor. The pattern is still the same at the moment - if I don't over-exert myself there are no symptoms, if I do there is the 'swelling' and pain while flaccid (still painless, straight, strong erections).
Can anyone recommend a urologist that is knowledgeable about Peyronie's in London (as I have private healthcare theoretically I should be able to pick one)?

Just to update you all, I saw a urologist last week (Gordon Muir - I have seen him before so he seemed like the obvious choice). I explained things to him and he palpated my penis all over, examining it all vigorously. He concluded that there was no Peyronies at all, and no damage to the tunica - he couldn't even feel where the injury might have been. He said that on the basis of the physical examination, there was definitely no damage that could lead to Peyronies. I pressed him and he said he could be "absolutely sure".
I feel reassured by this, and also by the fact that erections etc. are normal - and I hope that I am right to, although Mr Muir did not suggest what was happening.

Yeah, that's what my urologist said too, back then... almost a year ago.
Ushtipack - I am sorry to understand from that that your urologist was incorrect. Did you also have an injury to the penis and if so, how long after sustaining it did your urologist come to the unfortunately erroneous conclusion?

To decide if it Peyronies or not, not enough "he palpated my penis all over, examining it all vigorously" even for a leading Peyronies expert.
I am proposing you to get a second opinion from Peyronies specialist. Most of the urologists have very little knowledge regarding Peyronies.

I had an injury almost 12 months ago, during sex. I explained it in my first post. The first six, seven months everything was alright.My uro examined me twice during that period and he couldn't feel anything. He said everything was alright. Six month after the injury I experienced little pain. Than months after plaque developed, not much and still isn't much, but enough to causing me hourglassing under my glans. I have still pain and it seems that I'm still in the active stage. So, seek another doc.

Mr Muir is reputed to be well-acquainted with Peyronies and so I do draw a degree of comfort from his examination and comments. However I agree it would be wise to get a further (third) opinion. What is it that I want - an ultrasound scan? Is that the gold standard test?
Does anyone know a Peyronies specialist in Hong Kong, where I am at the moment? A google search turns up absolutely nobody.
My current symptoms in case anyone has any comments - straight (even when semi-erect), rigid, essentially painless erections, no problems with intercourse or masturbation. Sometimes pain/tenderness/burning while flaccid sometimes, along with what looks like a rib or ridge where (it seems to me) the injury would have been. The rib and pain seem more pronounced after sex, but is soft on palpation.
Grateful for any replies.
An ultrasound is not necessarily a "gold standard" test. However, it will establish the extent of any damage, if their is formation of plaque, etc.
I had this rib too. Now not that often. It is like a pronounced vein or lymph vessel. However, it disappeared after i've done pelvic floor stretches regularly for two three weeks. I thought it was scar tissue, but now I'm sure it isn't.

Ushtipack - I have a question about the ridge. It is soft most of the time (or not present at all) but harder/more prominent/more uncomfortable (rather than painful) after sex/masturbation. But even then if I stretch the skin of the flaccid penis so that it is taught over that area it basically disappears (for the duration of the stretching). All I can feel is the contours of the penis.
Does that sound similar to your ridge? Would a peyronies plaque behave in this way?
I will let you know what the next urologist says.
