Title: Is 'Use it or you lose it' real in your experience?
Post by: HeyThereYou on June 21, 2020, 07:00:21 AM
Hey guys!

What is all your opinions and experience with 'Use it or lose it'?

I've been having penile issues recently potentially due to a trauma meaning i need to rest it a lot more and not masturbate/have sex as much, i COULD have a form of mild peyronies which i am unable to get a diagnosis on at the moment in the uk, so i really need to calm down on the erections/masturbations/sex etc.

I normally do it twice a week now. I may get the odd erection on other days but it's never a full erection. I can get morning wood but its never a very full hard morning wood and also sometimes i may not get it for weeks (I KNOW these are other issues i am dealing with but today i just want to know about your opinions on Use it or lose it).

QUESTIONS:
1: What should be the minimum one should get a full erection per week? (If one is not getting morning wood/spontaneous erections).

2: Has anyone actually gone a long time with no erections and then when they did were just as good as before? (Someone who also was not getting morning wood/spontaneous erections).
Thanks guys hope ya can help!

My urologist said the same, but it's pretty useless advice when your penis is constantly inflammed for years on end and "using it" seems to only aggreviate it.

NTE daily are ideal.  If you're not having them I'd get a full ED Workup.  Meanwhile consider low dose nightly generic cialis (2.5-5mg).

I'm sure you know my stance on this, but I think once a week QUALITY erections is critical. But this truly means once a week and no cheating or erection checking. Sometimes less is beneficial for me, but if I abstain for too long I notice my erections are worse, and many men notice the same thing.

Okay great, what about getting erections throughout the week without masturbation/intercourse, just by being aroused etc?

If you are getting natural erections that's fine, but do not induce them yourself or try to induce them.

There is certainly some who benefit from nofap...or less fap.  I believe if it's painful back off.  Also, if not fully erect be very gentle (maybe use silicon sleeve) and no intercourse unless at least 90% erect.  I fear our sex negative society unnecessarily makes many of us feel guilty that somehow we caused this.  Be sure to get an Erectile Dysfunction workup.  Also, at least a couple studies that combine 100mg aspirin and low dose nightly cialis or viagra have improved EQ over time.

Maybe keep a journal of using your dick and how, and of when pain and how bad.  It may be just occasional pain unrelated to use, or you may find a very clear association.  Then you can decide how to best proceed.

Hey folks. Not trolling this post. Asking so clear guidance can be given to other members...

Why no erection checking?

Why only once per week, i.e., do you have studies or is that arbitrary?

How exactly would an older man get an erection without looking at porn or having a naked woman in front of him? (This would have been possible for me at 12 years old but my ability to imagine anything erotic and sustain it has long since been destroyed. It just sounds absurd on the face of it. Like a monk-like ability that would take years of tantric mystery practice. No thanks. I like porn.).

Main reason I am asking is as I said to help others. But also because I masturbate usually more than once a week. And it always hurts afterwards. And I check my erections to porn pretty much every day. And it always hurts. But I would not say I am in the active phase (been 2 years with no worsening). And I would not say any damage due to this is visible or knowable.

I think only masturbating once a week and only to your Zen imagination is like playing bingo with a bunch of old ladies. Not a good time.

And obviously there are people that don't masturbate for months and months. Defeats the purpose of a dick. I'd rather it just fall off.
