Title: Is this congenital or peyronie's or both?
Post by: wasup43 on December 10, 2017, 04:30:15 PM
Hello everyone I am a 19 yr old virgin who has a pretty hefty downward curve and I don't know whether this is congenital or not.  I know that when I was like 2 or 3 I I had surgery for something I am not sure if it was for a congenital curvature or not.  But ever since my early teenage years I masturbated a lot and still do daily.  I have been masturbating pretty much daily for the last five years, sometimes 2-3 times a day.  I have a feeling I may have caused this hefty downward curve by excessive masturbation and using a technique, where I use like 2/3 fingers at the top of my shaft towards the glans and rub across/up down.

I have noticed that I can't get as hard of an erection as I used too.  I just do not want this to affect my sex life and I hope it's not peyronie's disease, and if so I hope I can fix it to the point where I will be able to have sex just fine.

I have no problem seeing a urologist but if they say surgery I don't think I can do the surgery as I will lose length, and girth.  I have tried to stop masturbating but it's really hard.  Any tips guys, I really appreciate it.

On top of this my body is changing and penis has actually grown the past months as I think I am having another growth spurt.  Just side information.

I just feel like I may have damaged my penis all the years to the point where sex will be painful.  My erections are not painful though.  Is it possible that if I stop masturbating and leave my penis alone, I will get harder erections and a reduction in curvature?

Hi @wasup43, the mainly difference between congenital and peyronies is that this one is an adquiered condition caused by microtraumas or an injury that provoques scar tissue, known as "plaque". The plaque can be easily localized by touch. If this is your situation you have peyronies. If you don't find any strange hardening while flacid it's probably congenital.
Above you mentioned a surgery at a very young age, it wouldn't be weird that after all those years the cavernous bodies in your penis experienced asymmetrical growth, which is the main cause of congenital curve.
You shouldn't waste more time and go to an urologist (the usual procedure includes palpation by hand and a doppler). By the way, avoid masturbation for a while. The poor quality erection you're experiencing it's probably caused by it. If you are into porn it wouldn't be a bad idea to quit it for a while (+2 months!). Good luck and keep us informed about how things turn out.

Thank you for the information, I will see a urologist.  But from my description do you think I might have peyronie's, and do you think it is fixable considering my young age?

It's hard to know. You may have developed some scar tissue if your masturbation habits were part of your daily routine. Microtraumas are more likely to appear when you have sex or masturbate with less than a fully erect penis, my condition started that way  :-\. That's why it's so important to give your penis some rest until your erections become stronger.
In answer to your last question, the fact that we are still young (21 myself) gives us a better response to injury. Althought i haven't recover my straightness, in the last year i' ve seen major improvement in my curve.

Masturbation with a strong erection is not known to cause any problems unless you're very rough on your duck.  Try a flesh light if you think you're causing any trauma.  Porn is also not known to cause peyroines.  Ask the urologist for an ultrasound if you're concerned and they can't feel any plaque.  Good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you I'm just concerned as the curve is a pretty hefty downward curve, or maybe it's not and I'm overhyping it.  Can young males (18-22) like myself be cured back to normal?  What's the success rate on going back to penis normality from peyronie's?  I do have a vein on my penis that pops out and has always been like that for last years, maybe even forever.

Just take a pic and overlay a protractor.

I would also like to add that I think I have had this curve forever really.  The only way I remember my penis is curved.  I have no idea if this ventral curvature has gone worse over the years do to my masturbation habits, but I can never recall any pain, and the curve has been pretty much the same.  My penis is very veiny though, and I think has gotten more veiny, and I don't know whether or not that is a sign of scar tissue or not.  I cannot get as hard as I used to probably because of excessive pmo (porn masturbation orgasm).

Also maybe the curvature isn't as a result of plaque/scar tissue....maybe it developed as I masturbated with a downwards technique, where I masturbated on bed in a downward manner as I stated earlier.

So I am still unsure whether or not this is really congenital or peyronie's, but I'll let the urologist tell me in a few weeks.

I will say once again, that if Peyronies was caused by masturbation then there would be a MUCH higher percentage of men with symptoms.

What you are describing from your posts sounds very much congenital to me. Your degree of downward curvature would have an impact on whether surgery would be considered or not.
